I just wanted to throw out my two-cents, as a long-time MW main, that the mistweaver changes we’ve seen lately have made MW really fun to play and make me feel very powerful. I usually throw around the idea of playing Disc or Pres, to do more damage or play something more engaging, but this season I haven’t wanted to swap to another spec yet.
There have been a ton of quality of life changes added since Dragonflight, and everything feels like it culminated with the recent addition of Rushing Wind Kick, where I finally have agency to use one of my top abilities at a slight range if I need to (which is super-useful while moving out of cleaves/AoEs), and I also feel like I can do good damage, finally, which has always been one of the reasons I played Fistweaving builds. [Punching and kicking enemies hasn’t always equaled great dps.]
On top of this fun factor and ability to focus on DPS, I feel like I am also doing pretty great healing numbers as well, without feeling broken. I know fistweaving isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but at least for this Monk main, I feel like we’re in a pretty good sweet spot for fun AND heal/dps throughput.
Mistweaver also feels good in PVP without being oppressive. It was already fun at the beginning of the expansion but it got even better with the recent changes.
Agreed. I really enjoy the flexibility they’ve created. I don’t have the utility of Shaman, or the raw output of a Evoker, but I still feel very impactful. I’d still love a BRez, but I can get over that.
I hope the kind of love they’ve shown MW gets shown to our other two specs because they’re struggling. I seem to have chosen the worst time to get into Brew and WW, haha!
I like the idea of turning my brain off and just hitting stuff and keeping my party healed.
I’m not constantly HAVING to hover over party frames to spot heal players. There are still times you gotta do that, but mostly I just get to focus on doing as much damage as possible.
It’s very fun. I love doing damage. I love being a melee and being able to pump out a ton of heals, with quick queues is simply a bonus
Sithweaving is the most fun I’ve had in awhile but still missing that EF button in high movement AoE scenarios with 1 target
Overall MW does feel really enjoyable overall and as someone else mentioned:
This is really important. Devs need to remember this is a game and that’s the point is for us to just get into a flow state for fun with intermittent moments of intense focus to pump out heals but yea keep the focus more on just having fun.
I tried Pres Evoker because of tier lists and wanting to play a dragon and the like but honestly I just can’t jive with the kit, feels like everyone is running around out of your AOE and the channels feel awkward to me, even with the knowledge that you don’t HAVE to max channel everything and that there’s a CD to help with when you want it done instantly. I came back to Mistweaver and at 30 lower ilevels I’m pumping the same healing I was on my Evoker while having way more fun (even while neglecting Chi-Ji and Revival use completely because I hadn’t played this class in a hot minute…oop).
Recent buffs feel pretty good, especially with the change to TFT giving an empowered Jade Lighting for extra clappenings.
