FYI, in the upper right hand corner of the reply (see this one which I am replying to you on), you can see to whom the post is directed to. If I had simply hit the blue reply button at the bottom of the forum it would be a general reply, but I did not.
Yes I am, would you like to see a screenshot?
Yes, like it is now… but above, on my first reply in this thread, it says it’s to freiya or whatever his/her name is.

Ouch, that’s unfortunate. It sounds like the GM team is taking longer than they’d like to get to reviewing and the automated squelch is longer than a silence would have been.
The value of them reviewing is that, assuming they agree there was no spamming, they’d not just remove the squelch, but also remove the negative mark on the account. If you don’t appeal and just wait it out, that mark means the next time would be twice as long - so always appeal if you know you didn’t break any chat rules.
The appeal would also be part of making the abuse of the Right-Click feature show up, though that would take them seeing multiple false reports like that - so it can take longer for action to occur (and not be an obvious action, so it’s hard to know it happens).
Look at the post above… if you choose not to follow that link I posted (fair enough), just scroll up to my initial post in here - you can see the reply to
You don’t seem to get it, it is against the forum rules to discuss account action. If they were to post this in the CS forum, they are still breaking the rules and subject to being banned. So what you told “unjustly banned” people to do is awful advice, because it will get them banned from the forums, too. Blizzard has a gag order on people when they’ve executed account action, and the only way to be within the TOS is to appeal it. It’s rather disgusting, especially when you are banned because someone has gotten a whole guild to RCR for no reason other than they have a personal vendetta against you. It’s worse than vigilanteism. Come to the forums to try to show the system is messed up and use the specifics of your ban as an example/evidence (as everyone says “pics or it didn’t happen”)? Banned from the forums now.
In the time I’ve played this game, I’ve been banned more times than I can remember, and throughout my bans, I’ve learned a lot about Blizzard which has made me lose respect for them. First, I’m not sure if it’s still this way, however it was 3 years ago… when you are banned, you could not cancel your account subscription. You go to ‘manage your subscriptions’ and you are “temporarily suspended” and you couldn’t even cancel your sub. There was one extremely lengthy roundabout way that took me over an hour to figure out because I was furious at the level of deception involved. First they ban you, and knowing that most people who get banned are initially going to have the response of “screw blizzard, I’ll quit their game”, they made it nearly impossible for these people to impulse quit. This was obviously an intentional way to stop their banned customers from unsubscribing (and still may exist in this form). When the ban expires, they allow you to cancel your account easily, the normal way, but now you’re unbanned, so you have a much lesser incentive to quit and your emotional state is different. This alone made me lose a lot of respect for them as a company, as this was a move of no higher integrity than the scams created by many shady internet companies who get your credit card then prevent you from canceling.
I have plenty of other stories about Blizzards abominable/awful track record about bans, appeals, and the like, but there is the most egregious.
Guys like you suck the fun out of the room. If you are sitting in a main city for 10 minutes and get upset over the speed of chat then the problem is YOU not them.
If blizz didn’t want them using it more than once a minute they would of hardcoded a timer into it.
And if they didn’t want players to be able to report those who spam, and have them squelched, they wouldn’t have implemented those abilities.
It is only a relatively few players who attempt to monopolize the trade channel by spamming so frequently that other players can not stay on screen. By doing that they are taking space that should be available for others. But It’s an easy fix to use the report button to get the spammer off your screen.
For people who haven’t been taking advantage, the key thing to understand is how little effort it takes to make a huge change in the amount of spam you see. Most of the volume comes from a only handful of spammers. Invest a few seconds of getting them off the screen, and you’re much closer to having a trade channel that actually facilitates trades.
legion addition or w/e expansion it was added to.
like channel invites from gold sellers instead of whispers.
Stop blaming the player for playing. Blame the system he’s playing on.
Also, just ignore them.
Good grief, did you not read what I posted above and ignore the screenshot I just linked? Once again with passion: When you reply to someone right below their post it does not show who you replied to.
I should totally take your posting about consequences and bans totally seriously. Seeing as you have so much experience with them. No doubt an innocent bystander, absent of guilt.
Yes, as I am very experienced with them. I said nothing about the nature of my bans, and I admit guilt in consciously breaking the ToS in nearly all instances (if you don’t ever break Blizzard’s ToS you’re probably not a very exciting person lmao). You should absolutely listen to the fact Blizzard makes it nearly impossible to unsubscribe when you’re banned, as well as the fact it is against the forum rules to do what you suggested and post in the CS forum about your ban, and can get you forum banned as well.
Make fun of me for being banned, I really couldn’t care less (oh no, I named a character something bad or called someone a bad name!!!). I’m describing their gag orders on talking about bans as well as their deceptive practice to stop the banned from unsubscribing. If you don’t take issue with either, that’s on you. If nothing else, please don’t suggest that people post about their bans on the forums as you did above, as you’re encouraging them to unknowingly break the rules and get themselves banned from the forums.
