Blizzard should discontinue this whole idea of having legendary items when some people can’t even come to terms that you don’t need a legendary item to be able to do all the content and survive every situation. The forums literally goes off when they don’t have “their” legendary. And, that is one reason that blizzard should discontinue the idea of having a legendary because every time they release a legendary the forums and this so called “community” goes into this mindset of “ I must have this legendary or else I won’t be invited to groups or whatever else” this specific mindset is toxic and not even remotely true to do any content with a legendary item.

You can survive just about anything without any legendary items of any kind

The highest performing blooddk the god, the legend herself smilingx doesn’t have the legendary yet.

She been tanking 20s at 450 back at the start and has most trinkets. Seeing that makes me think a pleb dk like mine don’t need.

I honestly thought legendaries were exclusive to Legion as I have never seen one since.
Like I genuinely don’t even know what other legendaries there are after Legion. So hearing about this legendary axe, I was highly confused.

So yes, as someone with several 440+ that can solo practically all 5m+ rares and event bosses, a legendary is not needed for sh**

Hell, even at 425 - 430, this guy solo’d the 60m health Frryak(?) disciple. Took an hour, but it happened.

Actually, when blizzard releases a legendary for a class, that class is balanced around having the legendary.

So ret paladins, fury/arms warriors, blood/unholy/frost DKs that don’t have the legendary are basically half of a class at the moment.

What if instead, they discontinued the idea of RNG on legendary items and just made it a true farm?

I really wish they made acquiring it on lower difficulties easier with an appropriate ilvl version. I really just want the tmog and will probably spend 1M plus this season buying heroic kills for the chance at getting it. Feels bad.

Sure I know I could pug but I’ve got a family and work etc. can’t commit to raid guilds anymore at this phase of my life. My game time is sporadic

I like that the current legendary is bad, when gearing is hard the game is worse. Make things that drop a lot good so people can just get near BIS, finish the gearing chore, and play :smiley:

The only problem is Blizz is waiting for good amount of players to have Legendary so that they start tuning platers, did u see apart from paladin they shy away from touching any plate dps. So the faster ppl get it the faster Blizz can see what dumb design this Legendary is (8% dps increase for abnormal low rng and 500k gold)

Precisely this.

What people think will happen: 2H specs are hyped that they may have chance to shine this season due to a legendary.

What actually happens: 2H specs spend 75-90% of the season without said legendary and end up being 10%+ behind. If and when they get their legendary, progression is done and nobody is playing anymore so it doesn’t even matter.

Just make it a regular drop that isn’t hard to get and then have a difficult quest line attached to the item to unlock a fancy appearance/animation.

Don’t hide the stats behind a 1% drop.

Except the devs in all their mighty and ever foreseeing glory tuned the classes with the legendary as if they’d have it… then fail to actually provide it accordingly. Devs think the legendary will bring our classes inline when infact the legendary is a dps loss in some instances unless they fixed that glitch with the haste buff.

I’ve seen every other weapon drop multiple times in raid. Not one legendary for my raid group clearing normal week 1 and heroic since week 3

BFA had the legendary cloak that was required to do the Carapace and N’zoth encounters in Ny’alotha. Otherwise you got mind controlled the moment the encounters started. You got it from a questline that came with patch 8.3

Shadowlands had a legendary bow (hunters only obviously) off Sylvanas. Alongside the crafted legendaries.

Thats not the issue - the issue is we are tuned to have the leggo and cannot compete without it. We dont even compete with it so it legit feel like a slap in the face and a backup plan to make the playerbase feel better by having some orange writing and sweet tmog. Its a shame that most players will never see it.

Dont get the feeling of it.
Dont get the performance of it.
Dont get the look of it.

Took me 15+ years to get my Thunderfury bindings.
Never seen the Evoker leggo.

100% this. If you look at the numbers week to week all of the 2h str users are behind. It’s pretty clear that Blizzard balanced the classes around this item yet made it almost impossible to get.

I’ve been doing a heroic guild kill weekly (Wednesday) and a normal kill (Tuesday) the normal kills are by far the most amusing. This week there were 24 2h str users all geared to the teeth…100% getting greater essences from heroic…and no leggo drops.

At this point in Aberrus I saw multiple evoker leggos drop.

Blizzard needs to kill the idea of RNG leggos. Go back to earning them like in Wrath and Cata. Everyone could get them, but it took a lil’ bit of gold and usually support of a guild.
