was wondering what is the murloc icon that appears above some player’s heads?
noticed this on day 1 of pre-patch on a random player than saw another today?

Weird. Well, apparently you activated guide mode without reading what it is/does. The murlock icon can only be seen by guides and denotes a new player. A flag icon can only be seen by new players and denotes a guide. Both of these appear next to their respective names in the guide chat, as well as above the head of the characters.
How many people are going to turn this on just so they can identify and avoid new players?
Well, not necessarily new players I guess, but new characters. It automatically puts you in as a new player/character at level 1, then I believe auto turns it off at level 10, maybe 20, but I think it’s 10.
Interesting.
tbh i been thinking if i wanted to help new players or not. Cause everything i do in game is based on a whim and if i really want too. And by turning it on i pledge to help new players and i dont know if i want to do that everytime. I like helping just not all the time >_>. But this post you have made i didnt think of it at all like that but we live in a society
cool, blizzard should of prob better stated that an icon would appear above their heads
from reading the guide, sounded more like maybe new players would be able to reach out to you or you’d just be buddied up with someone.
