congrats to the bfa players, the guys who would be paying anyway you get a new old game for free! (this is great and I don't want to take that away from you!)
but everyone else I wonder why they couldn't at least entertain multiple subscription options?
options add to the game and don't have to detract anything from the retail people who want to pay once and dabble in classic "casually" or the people who want to play classic and maybe want to wet their toes on retail.
why not add a classic only subscription, make it cost a few dollars less or whatever works players will understand its slightly cheaper because no addition content is being developed for it, just give players the choice of which game they want?
I mean I get the arguments against it "it's free, stop complaining" or whatever
but I don't want complimentary fries with my burger, I don't care if the fries are free, I don't want them on my plate, I don't care to take them because free, I don't care that I don't have to eat or touch, I know I can throw them in the trash, but if salty fries are on my plate they are sure spoiling my apatite.
Sometimes you just feel like burger and nothing else.

Because it's tedious? I know people have some kind of odd fetish for 'refusing' to pay for a retail sub like it's some kind of protest but the reality is all your money goes to Blizzard. By subbing to Classic you still fund Blizzard.
They might have multiple subscription models. However, there is a perspective change for this model you should soak in. You can play Classic for $15 with non purchase price. You also, if you so choose, can install Legion and play for free.
Because you have no right to say who should play it or not and clearly blizzard wants BFA players to try classic when they feel annoyed with their main game without charging an additional subscription, so they keep paying, in exchange you get classic.
So what you want is to pay 15$ a month but only have classic playable?
I don't mind that I am funding blizzard just like I don't mind I am funding mcD I just don't want fries (retail) with my burger (classic) and I don't see why they can't give me that option (classic only) for a tiny bit less money?

Your burger is separate from your fries, you can choose to pick the fries or not, which in this case are for free, but the price you are paying is still the same.

I would like to purchase hours, rather than pay monthly, if they were to add that subscription model to the existing one I would be pretty happy. I am not interested in playing the latest version of WoW, and I know that when I do play classic it is going to be on a whim, rather than faithfully playing every day. As it stands now, $15.00 a month doesn't work in my favor, there may be months that I only play a few hours.
I would think, $15.00 for a lump sum of 80 hours of game play would be great - mind you those hours roll over from month to month.

Everyone that has a WoW account already paid for classic, they are not charging the same cost again, BFA is new and has a box cost. Not sure if I miss understood your post.

You don't know if classic will have updates or not, you/we THINK it will never have updates, but no one can know for sure, since a lot of things were scrapped in classic and might be re-introduced.
And yes I agree with the other guy, your reasons to have a separate subscriptions are ridiculous.
You pay 15 bucks, it´s your choice for what. I honestly don´t understand why you are having a problem with that, plus most people have a sub already, else they couldn´t post here. If everyone has BFA is a different scenario, but the sub we all pay and nothing will change, so it´s a win - win situation for us.

This is the worst subsection of the pserver base. Most of us have always been willing to pay up to play if Blizz did this, but there are always some cheapskates who come up with absurd comparisons to try and justify paying less or not at all.

Vanilla content no longer exists in game and only a small number of current players payed and played during vanilla. You as a BFA player are getting brand new content at no additional cost.

And you will not have, since to get BFA you need to buy the expansion, not pay the sub, as it was already said at least 101 times until now.

That doesn't matter, we already bought the license for it ages ago, and they know that.
