Simple: I think we should be allowed to join more than one guild
Let’s be real- communities suck and are dead in the water. I have yet to join a community that doesn’t die within a month- if there is even any activity in them to begin with after the initial day of making.
I’m definitely biased because I’m on an rp server and would like to be able to join an RP guild AND a prog guild. Yes there are work arounds like joining on alts- but I play mostly on one main who I’d like to do it all on … you know, as one does w/ their main toon.
I think guild wars 2 is a great example of this - you get multiple guild join slots and set one guild as your ‘main’ guild to rep.
I don’t know what the buy-in would be as a guild leader. Generally guilds are looking for full participation. With the exception of massive guilds, naturally.
Still, the guild leader can always decline, so I don’t see anything against this.
However, I think untangling the code is a nightmare of epic proportions and the entire reason they went with communities to begin with.
Still, a <3 from me, since there is no harm in it and may be a better fit for some.
All my Alliance characters are in my Alliance guild.
Same with my Horde characters.
However, I can’t do work orders for my alts. They have to be in the game guild.
I have to constantly drop and join guilds every time I want to do a work order. It is getting tiring.
I also miss guild chat when people are grouping up in the other guild :c
Solution:
An OPTIONAL “join guild on whole account” would be great. I love ESO’s system.
Guilds could get an extra roster for Bnet accounts so someone’s Bnet account could join that guild. All the while keeping the old system of players choosing to only be in a guild on one character.
Discord has nothing to do with allowing my alts to complete work orders among themselves.
Other uses for players being able to opt into guilds on whole accounts:
Guild bank access.
Guild repairs.
Saving officers the hassle of having to manually invite alt armies from opposite faction.
Guild leaders knowing which players are contributing to Endeavors (rn it shows up as characters who aren’t in the guild doing neighborhood activities so no way to reward active players)
Hopefully that’s not true now that Discord has openly admitted what they’re doing. But people still use tiktok after learning it was malware first, social media second sooo you’re probably right.
I’ve recently found myself in a conundrum with guilds and pondering their usefulness in the game.
I was in a tight raiding guild but had a falling out with a member that made it necessary to remove myself from the situation and I found that none of my former guild mates who I had on Btag and known for years seemed to give me the time of day.
It felt really bad losing an entire community of people I had played with for so long simply because I needed to remove a toxic individual from my life.
So I floated around to a few small social guilds and made some new friends and it was great socially but they weren’t really playing at the level I wanted to be playing at and that’s when it sort of hit me.
I like socializing with more casual players and I like pushing with more serious players, but I’m always getting stuck picking between a guild that prioritizes one over the other, because rarely do they ever do both well.
So yeah, I’m in a few different guilds now across a few different characters, but when the expansion dropped I had to pick which one to prioritize and that feels kind of bad too.
So yeah that’s a lot of rambling to say I think guilds are kind of antiquated and there should be less restrictions on getting into an in game guild channel, a lot of people still use it and for floaters like me I miss a lot when I’m on a different character and people use that channel instead of the guild discord.
this shouldnt be guild related at all and should be account wide.
this is a very problematic thing that you are suggesting. congrats you just made it easier for gold sellers to transfer gold lmao. as for guild repairs what guild is paying for your char at what time. should one guild have to pay for your repairs when your raiding with another guild that has them turned off?
this is one of the things bnet friends list and communities are made for.
havnt met any guild that cares at all so far about this lmao sounds like massive micro managing that inst needed.
thats my point is that it shouldnt be that way splitting things by factions at this point is ridiculous including qued content. so dumb that i cant que with a friend of opposite faction unless we have a full group.
