I reply to you. You reply to everyone. When was the last time someone replied to you and you said “huh, that’s interesting” and moved on? Most people are rational, and even if you disagree with them, their points are well enough made, or made in a fashion that fosters ongoing discussion that moves on. You don’t. You foster cyclic discussion that makes you look ridiculous, so cycling that discussion is beneficial to me.
I do “wanna hear what you have to say”. Insofar as I don’t give a crap what you say, but I wanna make sure you say it so other people keep reading it. It’s funny, in most cases, when employing such a strategy, you have to keep it reasonably quiet because most people are smart enough to realise what’s happening.
