Multiple equipped legendary implementation

I had thoughts on how I’d like to see equipping multiple legendaries return to the game. In legion you simply just unlocked the ability to equip 2 and used the best 2 you had acquired at the time. While that wasn’t perfect it did work ok for that system as the inherit randomness of gaining legendaries would see you rotate through legendaries as you gained better ones.

Since we can just immediately craft the best ones in shadowlands with ease. I’d like to see this not turn into “just equip the 2, they sim the highest” My thought is to add legendary points and you can at a given time equip legendaries up to that limit. Lets pretend it’s an initial limit of 2 points to keep things simple. If each legendary was worth 1 point each you could equip 2 legendaires. But desired the system could facilitate making higher performing legendaires cost more and allow for more points.

So in another example you could provide players with 3 points to play with, so they have the choice of using 3 lower throughput more utility leaning legendaires to fillout more equipment slots. Or mixing and matching a higher throughput legendary with a utility legendary ( 2 and 1), or just equipping 1 very high throughput legendary worth all their available legendary points.

Well the game ain’t balanced anyways might as well.

You people are not at ALL prepared for what Fire Mages would do to this game if they had access to both of their best-in-slot legendaries at the same time.

Right what I’m suggesting would mean you wouldn’t necessarily get both best in slot legendaries at the same time as they would each cost 2 points each, and if you only had availability to support 2 or 3 points of legendary powers, this would help give the developers some leverage to balance some of the power mixing in legendaries. And at future patches they could always increase this point cap as they see fit.

It is an interesting proposal, but with the amount of “forced to do Torghast” complaints we already have coupled with the cost of base items, which would again sky rocket…

I have a squirt gun… I’ll snuff you out like a wet candle :stuck_out_tongue:

Also worth noting they could implement this with larger numbers, like 100 point legendary cap, with legendaries having a wider range of values to facilitate a higher level of control in tuning what can combo together.

I think this could also work really well with a similar kind of penalty system we saw in BFA with corruption. Where in a later patch you are allowed to go over, but at a cost.
