Multiple cases of slander?

So i’ve witnessed and been a victim of multiple cases of slander(only on skeram cause that’s the only server I play on.). Was looking for a grp in gen and some random dude i’ve never played with starts saying i’m terrible and no one should play with me. I whispered asking what seems to be the problem and he says that I afked while they farmed a mob and that i’m a useless piece of garbage and they all hate me. I had no clue what they were talking about so I ignored it so then see 4 other people start spamming the same thing? I later joined a grp and asked and they said it happened to them as well and it’s a common thing. So please beware people and don’t blindly trust what these people say.

might I suggest one thing, change your wording a bit as legally Libel is a written or published defamatory statement, while slander is defamation that is spoken by the defendant.

From an RPG perspective, it’s slander and not libel.

I smell an educated adult here. This is suspicious…

Five people complained about you being trash and you’re not to blame. I smell half a story here.

Probably just trolls. /ignore and move on.

Good players will recognize you and you’ll build a rep over time

I did, i’m just wanting to let people know so they don’t freak out that their rep is ruined or people taking their words seriously.

I don’t know if this is related since it is a totally different server and the topic of the conversation was really different.

But was questing last night in STV on Atiesh and someone is trying to sell Jungle Remedies (weird to begin with at this point in the game). Next thing I know someone else is accusing them of being a hard core dungeon loot ninja, accused them of need-rolling and winning something they shouldn’t and insisting they had rolled need on everything possible throughout the whole dungeon. The accused repeatedly denied even being in a dungeon with the other person and a third person eventually asked if the accuser had any proof (corroboration of story from group members) and they merely said that the person was reported to authorities and would be dealt with. Everything about the whole exchange struck me as weird. I even /who them to see if they might be two members of the same guild trying to add mud to /1 for their own amusement but they were both members separate guilds. Ones that I’ve seen around Atiesh a fair amount.

Like if someone is doing that in a dungeon don’t you at some point boot them if it’s really such a problem? Was it a case of mistaken identity? Onlookers had only the word of two individuals. I’ve seen people try and call individuals out in trade chat before but usually both parties will at least seam to be familiar with the situation.

You were a “victim” because someone typed something to you in a video game? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaa

The world’s first mean WoW players, we need to study these anomalies.

Yeah its kind of like that one guy at work says that every coworker hates him and it’s something with all of them.

perhaps a little. In this case however, it is because I have 2 friends who are lawyers and I remember them telling me this years ago when they were in law school.

I could see your point if it was different people but they were all in the same guild. I’m assuming they’re friends
