Is it against ToS to create a second account on the same server, but opposing faction (1 on horde & 1 on alliance) and advertise that you are willing to sell items cross-faction through the neutral auction house?
No don’t think so.
It’s far easier to just join a server discord to advertise neutral auctions though.
Not against ToS to have second account and opposite sides. Raises hand.
And I DONT plan on farming myself for honor. I have too much pride. Be weird to gank myself lol.
(I have kids, decisions get made, factions get picked, etc.)
I could box, but don’t after playing rogue and killing them on sight (its funny as hell)
Trading stuff – definitely helps for trading on same faction side. That one goblin gold website is a good place to start. Haven’t messed with the cross-faction trading game but price is price and lots of traders have been there doing what you suggest since day one. Frankly I dont think its a huge advantage. This aint EvE online. Supply is very narrow as people tend to be self-sufficient at least on my server.
Great for Intel: I’m just standing there minding my own business as far as you are concerned. Remember that time when somebody said everybody’s doing it? Well, they were mostly right (in before getting yelled at by the single account police) and helps with farming a particular stupid underwater trinket, or camping those tryharrr cough what? Oh look! A kitty meme!!
Ya… don’t be surprised if you go poof.
Using your horde toon to help your ally toon o the same server is a uber big no no.
Naw, you’re paying for it, you should be fine. Outright collusion isnt even against the tos
Pretty sure the only stipulation is you can’t intentionally transfer items between them or have them help each other. But even then, Blizzard probably doesn’t care judging by how they don’t deal with plenty of other more severe rule breaking.
Pretty sure I’ll be fine. Tehre will be zero log showing me cross-factioning anything. Same side vending accounts are nothing new (Im one of those crafting tryhards)
But y if my horde toon is near Duskwood and I see a huge zerg forming and on the way to Westfall, I might say something to my Alliance guild. ToS? Don’t think so.
Don’t see any reason why it would be. You aren’t “spying” on anyone, and you’re using in-game mechanics as intended. If Blizzard didn’t want the neutral AH to exist they’d take it out.
That said, if you’re advertising this, expect at least one person to shadow you and try to gank whatever you’re trading. There are mods for the AH that significantly speed up alert/purchase times for players.
nope, it perfectly fine
Back in Vanilla I played both factions (on a PVE server), and had 2 accounts so that I could use the neutral AH to transfer things.
Sniping was terrible. There were always players sniping things there. I quickly learned not to post expensive items for a low price, and not to post anything for a few copper.
I used the neutral AH to move raw mats and finished products for my crafters, since quite often the 2 AHs had different amounts or prices.
I got around snipers by having a buyer ready to buy as soon as something was posted (2 copies of game running), making the sniping window only a few seconds. That worked well.
PvE servers are fine.
PvP servers are probably a bad idea to do that because Blizzard does ban people for “spying” on the other faction on PvP. A GM if he were to look might think you are spying even if you are not so Ymmv there.
