I understand that Blizzard’s stance on this is that multi boxing is not a violation of the ToS, but how is multi boxing in pvp remotely fair or ok?
I’ve now lost 3 AVs in the last day because someone multi boxing 5 frost mages was literally able to control and obliterate everyone on the map including LTs and commanders by himself. His team was then free to do whatever they pleased.
This is completely game altering for everyone else on the opposing team.
Multiboxing is cheating plain and simple. It’s clearly not how the game was intended to be played, Yet, you see cheaters, and brain dead idiots defend it all the time, saying it’s not cheating because blizzard ‘allows’ it. So many problems in the game could be solved easily if they simply banned multiboxers from playing the game.
That 5 box mage is nearly rank 14. As far as I know he’s done it entirely pugging – he’s not a particularly social guy as you can tell. I’ve had him on my team a few times, and it’s always very amusing. He’s a monster flag defender in Warsong Gulch. That said, it’s never been a romp and stomp. He’s gotten fairly good but there are inherent limitations to multi-boxing that 5 individual players don’t have. This past WS weekend, the Horde team (8/10 premade) managed to cap once and drag the battle out over 30 minutes. They never gave up either, even though I’m sure their focus is HPH.
The time I was with the multi boxing mage in AV, he was pretty angry about the druid rep meta and felt strongly that it was an exploit. He also was pretty good at holding a graveyard or killing the odd lt – but I wouldn’t say he was all that dominant, and I believe we lost the game like usual.
There was a Horde mage in one of my AVs once, and he also wasn’t a game changer – he was right annoying when camped on the graveyard you thought you were going to spawn in. But other than that, the game went as normal.
Because this is a game of characters. 1 character isn’t meant to be able to destroy 5 characters regardless if 5 individual people control them or if 1 person controls them.
PVP is the solution. Get some more characters (friends, guildies, faction, multibox) and go fight.
Also, 5 individuals fighting even modestly skillfully will wreck 1 person controlling 5 guys. Fear them, aoe them, fight from all different angles, cc, etc.
Ultimately 1 person playing 5 characters is at a severe focus disadvantage versus 5 people playing 5 characters.
Another hot take from a person who can’t even finish the 60 grind lmao.
Just because you don’t like something and or can’t do it doesn’t make it cheating.
The multiboxer has several disadvantages which are easily exploitable, If I have to explain this to you you probably aren’t cut out for WoW, maybe try runescape?
I’m going to bet this is the guy with gnome mages that are named after rare gems (amber sapphire etc)
He turns av games in alliance favor
I kind of pity someone who spends all that money to have a clear unfair advantage in pvp. The only skill it takes as far as I’m concerned is a knowledge of third party key copy programs.
It’s like juicing in sports, it gives people an unfair advantage and is against the spirit of true competition
If blizzard let 1 character have the power of 5 characters, maybe. But 5 characters having the power of 5 characters is not “Pay to Win”…it doesn’t matter if they’re being piloted by 1 person or 5.
Of course it’s pay to win. If it wasn’t about the money blizzard would let us use our one account to pilot five characters. But you can only buy that advantage.
