That just seems ridiculous to me. I saw 3 mages in STV doing the Nesingwary quests. 3 mages simultaneously cast 3 frost bolts and killed the beast. It took me 3 smites to kill it. It’s not just the kill speed. I used more mana then the multiboxers so I’d have to wand more or sit and drink. Questing as a multiboxer is clearly an advantage the vast majority of the time. Multiboxers buy themselves an easier game.
Its because you’re comparing 1 person IRL to 1 person IRL. Which is fine. In that sense, and as you’re describing it (questing), certainly, it’s an advantage for a single IRL person (provided they spend the massive amounts of time to learn it).
In the case of say, PVP though, you wouldn’t ever be comparing 1 IRL person to 1 IRL person. That simply doesn’t matter. It’s characters vs characters. 3v3, for example. In any number vs the same number, multiboxing is at a disadvantage.
Perhaps this is relevant to mention…
I have multiple accounts, and I have successfully been able to multibox in the past, yet I currently (and mostly) do not multibox at all, because for me, it is more bothersome than it is worth, i.e. It is disadvantageous, overall (in my opinion).
Meh is how I feel bout multiboxers, its annoying to get randomly 1 shot one times but its just a game, rezz up and go bout your business.
End of day Blizz wont ban them, their stand point since vanilla has been its not cheating and they been sperged out on longer then most people have played WoW.
Just logged back in and ironforge has some scumbag multiboxing like 25 mages. Disgusting. and I flew to westfall. and theres like 5 multiboxers running around in sentinel hill. This is too much dude. Blizzard needs to do something about this.
Mad cuz bad.
Technically, they just buy themselves a group.
You could accomplish the same thing, could offer gold to do X number of quests with you.
I’d prefer to just hit up guild chat, cheaper.
Are we exaggerating a wee bit?
Maybe, but that’s almost $400 a month in WoW fees, and probably 3k to 6k worth of computers.
What part of no changes do you not understand?
Stop trying to ruin vanilla.
what vanilla?
You can/could multibox in every version of WoW there ever was.
Yes exactly. Don’t remove multiboxing. It was part of vanilla.
No changes.
Is multi-boxing killing people now?
At a cost. They can’t heal or tank. They just DPS. More effectively than a single player? Yes. More effectively than five independent players working together? Not really.
I find multi boxers free honor.
I killed one multiple times today he/she had 5 accounts.
I noticed the main account I either cc, run into a few mobs where he/she is getting attack focus main then pick off the others. If I run and they mount I use the ray on the main account. Which knocks them off the mount. Run away a little separating them. Proceed to pick off.
I am sure they use a bot system to have two chase while 3 are snared/cc.
Bots only do few things so it’s easy to pick off then go finish the remainder.
You are only 15.
You should start a character on the server I am on.
I’ve never seen a multi boxer on my server.
But if there are any, I’m sure you will immediately find them because you seem to know exactly where to go to find them instantly.
A lot of players are upset about multiboxing. OP is far from alone.
Okay, “a lot” means there are a lot of forum posts. I don’t know how many total players hate multiboxing – is it 4% or 40%?
But that doesn’t matter. Maybe only the “most upset” players are posting, and a lot of other players dislike multiboxing.
Expressing their opinions (that multiboxing is bad for the game) is good feedback for Blizzard.
Dude it mostly happens in PvP servers for the purpose of getting an advantage over other players. I don’t know what the issue is, but whitemane seems like a hub for multiboxers. Whitemanes total population has to be like 8k, the other like 2-3k are just multibox accounts. I logged in the other day and sentinel hill was nothing but multiboxers. Like 5-6 people each multiboxing mages. There had to be atleast a total of 15 multiboxers in westfall, all running 5 toons. Ironforge had someone multiboxing like 25 mages, and it was just an instant facepalm to see someone go to such lengths to get attention and false sense of popularity in the community.
The vast majority of WoW players agree with you. Not only is multiboxing part of the vanilla/classic experience, it brings an extremely fun, exciting, and positive aspects to this game.
Further, multiboxing allows a person who has otherwise become bored with WoW, an outlet to experience the game in a new fashion.
I would argue that Multiboxing is what will keep WoW alive for as long as possible.
/facepalm
The only people that are defending this multiboxing problem are the multiboxers themselves. Everyone else knows how pathetic and unfair it is to pay for 5+ accoutns to get an advantage over other players.
Most of the multiboxers have destroyed the economy with gold farming. I cant get gear on a lower lvl toon because the AH prices are so out of control from inflation thanks to all the multiboxers, and bots farming gold.
if you /who and look at ZF, strat, and other instances that can be farmed for high amounts of gold, you can see that its like 90% mages in those dungeons that are constantly farming. Most of them are groups of 5 capped mages that is being multiboxed.
I don’t multi-box because I enjoy having a single player / toon experience. Yet I don’t have an issue with those that prefer to multi-box.
I came up with an example earlier of how I would also fall under the umbrella of getting an advantage over other players.
IE if I had one or more young children and they wanted to play WoW but were unable to hold a job. If I was paying for their accounts as well as mine and we played together as a family this would clearly be paying for an advantage over someone else. Yet for some odd reason it doesn’t seem to hold the same aggro as a multi-boxer. Both are paying for an advantage, the only difference is how they are executed.
Multiboxing is allowed. Botting is not. Your post is irrelevant.
so you want Blizzard to turn away someone who is willing to pay for five accounts monthly?!
That guy is paying 75 dollars a month, you are paying 15 and you want priority treatment?!
OK! Someone slept at the back of their business classes.
