Multiboxing should be against ToS

I would say anyone under a certain age has an unfair advantage over me because I am old, my eyesight is going and my reflexes are gone.

Ban anyone under 50!

Realistically the argument from Blizzard is:

One button should produce one action.

Which is to say that you don’t get more benefit from pressing a single key than anyone else gets from a single key. The fact that you have multiple copies of WoW open isn’t relevant, though. Each version of WoW you have open is still getting “one key” event.

In practice however it’s trivially easy to point out that someone multiboxing, let’s say two characters, is getting two key presses for the price of one.

If you multibox 5 characters you’re getting 5 key presses for the price of one. “Mirroring” is still duplicating presses, it’s still multiple actions for the price of one key press.

I’m not going to crusade against Blizzard but it always has been and always will be unofficially endorsed because it’s more money. When properly read, with the spirit of the rule and the wording, and with even a modicum of common sense, it’s breaking the TOS.

Multiboxing, unless you’re actively using multiple keyboards, is using software or hardware that produces results that you could not normally do with a single key press. You are getting bonus actions when you shouldn’t; the TOS applies to the player, not the specific account.

no…its not, lol.
ONE key press = ONE action PER WoW account.
Its not against the ToS, no matter how many times you all claim that it is.
sorry but this is their own blues words.

:flushed:
uh…you DO realize that every time you hit a KEY on your KB that it isnt PHYSICALLY doing anything to your character in the digital world, correct?
SOFTWARE is interpreting the key stoke to TELL the character what to do in game.
EXACTLY the same when you MB.

And blizzard is fully aware.
What violates their ToS is AUTOMATED (NO PLAYER required) botting

You put words into my mouth. Rather uncooth.

logical conclusion, dude.
You dont just turn logic off when it doesnt suit your needs.

More like reaching, but you do you.

crap nonsense and you know it guy.
you said…

Well, yes and no. Everyone “could” but it wouldn’t be prudent for me to have extra accounts AND pay their subs too. I have far too many other responsibilities to take care of.

Could just as easily have been …

“Well, yes and no. Everyone “could” but it wouldn’t be prudent for me to (play more hours). I have far too many other responsibilities to take care of”

How could anyone argue with your sound logic? Love how you twist my words into pretzels to fit your narrative. Out of morbid curiosity, do you frequent engagements on Twitter? Maybe you’re an avid reddit enthusiast? Either way, I stand to lose at your mental gymnastic reasoning.

What you really mean is that it’s trivially easy to misrepresent how multiboxing works. What’s actually happening is that each client window is performing a single action in response to a single button press.

they couldnt, lol.

What I love is how youre trying to pretend that its not the same thing
If your responsibilities keep you from MBing and its ‘unfair’ if we MB…then the SAME line of logic applies when your responsibilities keep you from playing 60 hours a week like little Johnny does who is getting all the cool stuff.
If one is unfair because you cant put the resources to do it, then the other is unfair for the same reason.

No. Just been dealing with people for many years who like to change their stories when it turns out its not working out in their favor.

Well, I’m not changing mine. Looks like we are at a discourse. Let’s agree to disagree and both of us take the high road.

sounds good.

So what you’re saying is that other people can do stuff that you don’t feel like doing, therefore they have an unfair advantage.

He doesnt like that, lol. I pointed it out already.

I like being able to run myself through dungeons on 5 accounts. Thank you Blizzard for allowing me to do so.

Exactly.

I remember back when I started playing in Wrath, seeing characters running around Shalozar Basin collecting herbs. I was told back then that they were called bots, as in autobots, because people could set them in motion via some software thingy I didnt understand and then go off to work and leave them just running around gathering things. And that people hated them because of that, and Blizzard would punish people for doing it from time to time.

So I learned early on the difference between a bot and a multiboxer.

What I would like is a dungeon option that allows you to do that without the need to multibox. ESO has something similar called a delve, where you can go in alone or with friends, but its quite doable alone as thats the way it is designed. And they work at any level. If I could, say, do a delve-type dungeon at, say, level 25, that would be great for when I had no one available to do it with me, or when the queues were too long as dps.

Explain!

so since everyone can bot, it is ok if you bot. gotcha.

Money and probably money? I don’t know how it is not bannable.
