The very practice requires automation. Despite what Blizzard has said, I’ve always disagreed with their premise here. One must use tools to replicate and deliver keystrokes and other input to multiple computers. Beyond one toon, the rest are automated. They are not being individually controlled. They are slaves to a master.

Cheating or not, essentially multi boxing is pay to win, especially when used in PvP. I will never be okay with pay to win in anything. Alas activision cares more about the extra money more than it does its players.

Considering blizzard will always choose their wallets over their players…that is not a strong argument.
The only thing that matters is what Blizzard says.
Tell me. Do you think people sending me tells saying I should end my life while I’m multibox leveling at 3am and bothering no one are righteous in their hurt feefees?
I literally do none of the things people complain about but they still want to take away my playstyle, and they send me nasty grams, they threatened me, they put mobs on demand try and kill me, and so on. Do I somehow deserve to get the kys treatment?

It’s hilarious how many players blame Activision for all the faults of this game, it’s very telling who knows what they are talking about and who doesn’t. Activision-Blizzard became a thing before a greater portion of the players today even played WoW.

Your clearly missing the point. Doesn’t matter if it is activision or blizzard, the point remains they are going to make decisions based on what is best for their bank accounts rather than what is best for the game.
You can always vote with wallet.
Ion, in his interview with bellular a few weeks ago, mentioned automation in reference to addons in general. Automation is usually taken out of context in threads like these, but it isnt inherently a bad thing or against ToS. In fact, like Ion said, all addons automatically do something.

Yeah, players (myself included at one time) like to use dictionary definitions of what automation is when Blizzard has their own (unknown) definition of what is and isn’t automation.
There were a group of trolls who were harassing an in game channel before the new community stuff happened. After many tickets with Blizzard, I wrote an addon to kick them on the spot.
They cried to high heaven about automation. Nothing happened to me. I think Blizzard was like, “well, you shouldn’t have been harassing them.”

Learning to write my own addons was a great decision, I can have whatever I can figure out how to make

This is like saying a television broadcast station is duplicating TV shows to multiple televisions.
They are being directly controlled. They can take no action without human intervention.
One button press results in one action per client window. That’s what makes it not automation.
They decided to allow multiboxing before the game even launched. Before they had received a single penny from players.
Also? I highly doubt that multiboxing makes up even a single whole digit of their total income. They really could ban it tomorrow and nobody higher would even notice. It would be a drop in the bucket compared to all the actual cheaters who get banned all the time.
