Multiboxing positivity

This is very true. It is how I was multi-boxing on Classic without the use of any third party software.

Two laptops
Mouse from Laptop A
Keyboard from Laptop B
One follow macro

Not overly efficient, but it did work

I would advise trying with some starter accounts. That way you can see how you like it for free as well as see how many boxes your computer can handle. Multiple monitors is also advisable.

Thanks, It will be interesting to see how many copies of wow my computer can deal with!

So looking into it, it appears there is quite a few ways to get it done, are they all okay via Blizzard or only some methods?

Out of pure curiosity, wasn’t there a large and broad ban of multiboxers a few years ago or am I imagining that?

And if so, what changed? Did the games rules or policy change to allow it now?

Anything that doesn’t automate is acceptable. Rule is “1 keypress = 1 action”. So you can have that keypress be the same action (spacebar makes all my guys jump) or something different (Taunt on 1, heal on another, attack on others), but you can’t have 1 keypress set off a sequence of events. And that’s true for 1 account or 50.

There’s one program I use that has something like an auto follow that automatically makes the slaves follow once combat is over. I feel like that’s a little too close to automation. So I don’t do that. I have follow keybound and just spam it when combat ends or when they get stuck. They get stuck a lot.

I’m not sure of what you’re talking about but generally when I see “multibox” bans they are actually bans of people using software commonly used by multiboxxers in a way that’s not allowed.

I never heard of this.

It’s been allowed since the beginning.

What an oddly self-contradictory statement to make. So you only troll people on the left, even though you are not on the right.

I see a disconnect here.

Yeah they did, but those were people using bot program/hacks. Bot programs the computer. or software(Bot program) plays the game for you. You can go to bed, and leave your pc on all night, and bot program will continue to play nonstop. Multiboxing you have to actually be sitting at the computer playing the game, pushing keys, and controlling the characters. Read enough of these spam threads, and you can tell who the folks are that know the difference between the two, and those that are clueless about it. Edit. And no their policy did not change when it comes to botting.

100% imagining that.

No. I wear an obama shirt to troll people on the right. I’m in the center. Both arguments are dumb.

The difference is the people on the right don’t threaten to beat me or scream at the top of their lungs for me to take it off.

You might want to check stats. The idea that you are constantly being threatened with violence by the left-leaning, while right wing militia members are peaceful is not credible.

Never said they were peaceful. I just said they don’t scream at the top of their lungs or threaten to beat me for wearing a piece of clothing.

Edit: or throw drinks with concrete in them.

Each client window is performing a single action in response to a single button press initiated by a human being.

If that’s cheating, then congratulations on redefining the term so broadly that it applies to everyone who has ever played the game.

If you mean macros then sure but, they are using the limitations of the game in one client. I still can’t macro the same button to be pushed 6 times at once and have it go off 6 times at once. I can’t macro to mine the same node 6 times and get 6 times the mats.

That’s not what’s happening. Stop deliberately misinterpreting things so you can keep arguing.

One button press results in one action per client window. That’s it. That’s all there is to it.

I dont care about Multiboxers as long they don’t mess where i am in that moment

No not at all. 1 button push results in a copy of that button being transmitted to multiple clients at once.

I’m a guardian. I’m going to run in and tag everything whether I’m alone or have 4 other characters in tow. It’s all going to run to me. You can tag all that stuff too, and I’ll kill it for you. I don’t see a problem with that.
