Not very tech savy are we
I said this in an another thread.
Just so you know, Blizzard defines botting as using software or hardware that uses an AI to play the game and make decisions for you. Multiboxing doesnât do that, whether you use software or hardware is irrelevant, a person is still behind the keyboard controlling these characters.
You can quote the ToU all you want, but Blizzard provided an exception here.
Itâs called a KVM Switch
Show me a KVM that can control 60+ computers. Iâve used them before in datacenters but never one like that.
Also I know what Blizzard considers 3rd-party. Thatâs why I said âIMOâ in my message. Itâs also why I wonât report players for using them. I still think it should be banned though.
I used to build my own hardware back in the early 90s when I worked on mainframes. Itâs not as high tech at you think.
These threads are becoming a riot
Especially the people who are clueless as too how multiboxing works and the various ways of doing it.
I used to hate multiboxers⌠now i pity them. You donât have to ban them, stop buying mats off the AH. Simple. Professions are garbage anyways. If you stop buying their stuff, the price plummets to the ground and the multiboxers disappear.
You can do that, but itâs quite hard to do as generally when they sell their mats, itâs quite cheap.
My only problem with multiboxers is when it comes to having warmode on. Its not fun to have 5 moonkins essentially 1 shot you since they press their buttons all at the same time. But that was way back in the beginning of the xpac so idk if that is still happening as often.
Are you in the habit of taking on groups way larger than you and expect to survive? I know some pvpers like to think they are that good. Whether it controlled by one player or 5, getting hit with that much firepower is gonna ruin your day.
No. It had nothing with taking on larger groups. It had to do with a lot of horde and alliance fighting then a multiboxer comes in wiping people out left and right.
You donât know how easy it is to disrupt a multiboxer in pvp is⌠One good fear bomb and a bit of coordination is all it takes.
A few years ago I dabbled in dual-boxing. It was mainly for the recruit-a-friend rewards and granting levels up to level 90. It helped me get the firy horse, which is my favorite mount. So, I donât have any regrets for dual-boxing, I donât PVP, or interfere with anyone else.
I stopped several years ago, went back to work and then, âlifeâ happened last June, so I have a lot of free time on my hands now. So, Iâve dabbled back into boxing and learning a little bit more about it. Iâve had an account for nearly 14 years. I may not be a raider or a competitive player, but I enjoy it as much as they do.
I love to use the auction house, farm transmogs, pet battles, questing, itâs relaxing for me and gets my mind off of, âlifeâ that tried to interrupt my⌠well, my every thing.
I can understand the animosity towards people that multi-box. I donât know if itâs cheating or if itâs legit, but I do know that since Iâve dabbled into more than two accounts the past week or so, itâs been quite fun running five-mans on my own characters. Not having to wait for queues, take my sweet time, itâs fun for me.
Iâm sure people will see me out in the game world and throw whispers and report me, I always remember and I quote:
*Multiboxing, or playing multiple World of Warcraft accounts at once, is not a violation of our Terms of Use. We do not actively support multiboxing tools. For questions about setting up or running multiboxing, you will need to refer to third-party sites such as [WoW Wiki]
(Quoted directly from Blizzardâs support page and it was updated 3 months ago, canât post links⌠yet anyway)
I respect peopleâs opinions about it, but hurling derogatory insults to random people isnât going to do you any good. Utilize the forum, vent if you need to, every one is entitled to their beliefs on this issue.
I have my opinions, doesnât mean Iâm right, just means I believe in what I do and you believe in what you do.
Thatâs all I can say about it.
Again, a lot of horde and alliance fighting at once. It wasnt just me and a multiboxer. You cant really focus down a multiboxer if you also have to worry about other players. Also considering it was just world pvp with random players, how are you gonna expect coordination?
I dunno, it happens quite often when I jump into warmode. if the other faction brings a multiboxer to try to ruin the fun, everybody seems to know what to do, and drives him off. Some of you pvp guys claim that pve is so easy, treat the multiboxer a boss mob with no aggro table.
That does seem to be the truth. Complaint posts on multiboxing is not new, but there seems to be a real spike on it lately. Whether thats that a lot of newer people are seeing them, or that a lot more people are multiboxing, I donât know.
Me personally, it doesnât affect me that much but as a matter of personal opinion on the principle, I donât think multiboxing is in the spirit of the game. It should be that one person can only play one character at a time; multiboxing ruins that sense of a fantasy world where you meet other players on their characters. Meeting a player on their 20 characters all bundling up together in this mass of moonkin druids or whatever, doesnât fit what I always thought WoW was about.
But anyhow, until Blizzard agrees and smacks a ban on playing more than account at the same time, nothing is going to change.
Dam i wish there is Multibox in my realm, every matts becomes cheap
Make anti-multiboxing threads bannable.
Seriously, stop it.
Thatâs not how multiboxing software works.
All the software does is direct keyboard signals to every WoW client. Therefore each WoW client is still directly under the control of the player. The other characters wonât take so much as a single step without the player commanding them to do so.
I buy and resell everything in DALARAN
You just have to have their game schedules
