You keep using that insult, but I don’t think it means what you think it does.
You don’t need any software to do what you’ve described, just extra accounts. You can run multiple instances of the game without a single add-on or piece of extra software.
If I have five accounts I can log them all simultaneously, anyone can do that, put them in windows on my screen, watch for the lotus to spawn, then pick it. I can use timers, etc. without any extra software.
Which is not an advantage since someone can still always beat you to picking the lotus
I don’t care man. I don’t like that it’s in the game and that just my opinion man. You’re not going to change my mind about it. But my opinion doesn’t matter, I get it.
You cannot provide a coherent argument based on any fact so you decide to resort to insults and “i’m taking my ball and going home”. Crying “it’s just not fair!” over and over isn’t the way to persuade people to agree with you.
Just repeating what you called me, Princess!
And that’s fair. That’s fine. I appreciate that you have an opinion.
I don’t have to change your mind. You are entitled to your own opinion, and to express it.
I agree, I’m not sure why the OP thinks you need multi-boxing software to camp spawn points with multiple characters. Or maybe he is really saying no one should be permitted to log in with more than one character at a time. Since they would all be separate accounts I’m not sure how you’d even enforce such a restriction
I don’t have to. I won’t change your mind and you won’t change mine.
So, just stop, I don’t care about your mental gymnastics to convince yourself it’s not cheating. All you have to do is live with yourself, if your conscience is clear then good for you.
I’m not the one who seems to be going through an extreme sense of mental anguish here friend. It appears that the way other people play the game is causing you some potentially serious issues.
Sure had me fooled. You’re the only one here who seems triggered.
I just stated my opinion clearly and gave some reasons for it. You came in here with all the justifications and some name-calling. People don’t like to think of themselves as cheaters. You probably think you are being innovative and clever.
You’re the one calling everyone cheaters because they don’t play the way you want them to be playing
No, I’m calling you a cheater because you are cheating and you admit it. I consider it cheating, but what do you care what I think?
Play the game however you like, and I’ll play how I like. I just prefer not to cheat.
Blizzard says they aren’t. Take it up with them.
You’re being disingenuous. The advantage of multiboxing is farming at 2x+ the rate of anyone not multiboxing. It’s already the best method for any gold farm and is thankfully gated by node spawns. It’s pay more, earn more, and it’s a bad precedent for blizzard to support.
They paid for the account.
They can play how they want.
Get over it.
I do not believe I am. Stating something like is a cheap argument, imo.
Farming at 2x the rate. What type of farming? Certainly multiboxers don’t have access to more nodes at once, so would you mind elaborating on how you come up with this 2x figure?
What does this mean? Frostradamus has some good guides on gold farming. He plays solo.
I’m not quite sure what you mean by this, but I might imagine if someone has 5 characters, and is multiboxing drop runs, etc. then they would be able to clear faster than on a solo character.
I don’t know that that would make up for the 2x gold rate, even if you were comparing 5 toons to 1, but I also don’t know why you would.
I’m genuinely curious as to what the claims of advantage are.
“There is an advantage.”
“It’s pay to win.”
“It’s so clear.”
Does not satisfactorily explain what precisely the claim is.
The advantage of farming with multiple characters vs a single character is self-evident. Where it doesn’t lead to multiple loots, as with ekos, it leads to faster clears. It also allows for more farming methods such as dungeons. All the resources gathered via this farming may be distributed across multiple characters, but it all funnels to the single player controlling them. That’s the clear advantage that the extra monetary investment to mutlibox will get you. It is pay more to have more in game.
Imagine farming for 12 hours in a 5 or 10 man group and then having all members hand everything they’ve earned over to a single person. That’s the gist of what mutlibox farming can earn for a single player.
It is NOT a grey area. Blizzard has stated multiple times that multi-boxing is an allowed, though non-supported, activity.
Not necessarily. Other than having some “dumb” bodyguards while farming nodes, if you are farming nodes, I don’t think there is any advantage. Certainly not something that would support the 2X claim.
Potentially, yes. Particularly if someone is multiboxing with a number of characters to support the necessary roles.
So, let’s say there is a 5 toon multiboxer. Are we suggesting that only 1 of them requires a mount, enchants, etc.?
Is this the heart of the claim? That someone could choose how to distribute loot/gold/materials from farming on multiple characters to a single character?
I mean, you could argue that someone could play multiple characters on a single account, and do the same. Of course, the difference is concurrency, saves time, no doubt.
OK. So, it seems that perhaps that is what your claim is.
