Multiboxing is not pay to win. It is pay to stupid. It is also here to stay. Always was and always will be. Relax.

@Nsk they banned for that because it wasn’t making them extra money like multiboxing in WoW does.

I’m not arguing with you, Ran. Just stating a simple fact. And the fact that it is not against TOS is not my opinion. The fact that it will never be against the TOS is based on Blizzard’s repeated endorsement of multiboxing.

How does multi boxing ruin world pvp again? I say if a person multi boxing 2 chars can beat me solo or even better, me and a friend, more power to them. They would have to have some insanely good micro for that

It is against tos(3-rd party software that allows automation - you controll 1 character, the rest just clone this behavior automatically), but blizzard for some reason decided to read the tos sideways when it comes to this particular matter.

During Vanilla, a 5 shaman multiboxer was one of the most entertaining teammates I had.

I think you’re wrong about that. Multiboxing takes still and the TOS does not prohibit 3d party software unless it automates action.

You’re a Warlock. Fear. That’s the easiest way to deal with multiboxers. Most of them won’t be able to recover from that and you can easily pick them off one by one.

Wrong they have less power compared to a normal group. Plus they have more difficulty doing many things (mulitiboxing and gather quests suck) and they have huge disadvantages (not as strong as the disadvantages a single character going against a group has but still huge ones)

Yeah we had one in my battle group that was 2200ish with a 5 elem shaman combo. Still beat them with our 5man lol

No, they interpreted it as 1 key press per action per client. So one keypress can trigger 1 action in each of the clients they have open.

I have the money to do it but I think it’s ponderous and stupid looking. Money isn’t the only reason people aren’t running around with 17 hunters or whatever the hell they use.

You controll 1 character, how does other 30+ instances do the same actions simultaniously? You alt tab 30 times and do same actions there in nano-seconds? Nope, 3-rd party software sends your key\mouse strokes to minimized instanced of the game.
The simple fact that it sends input to a minimized inactive instance of the game is enough to consider this not just automation but straight out hack.

AT was a BE racial that was nerfed from a silencing move to removing an effect and some small mana restore but I don’t recall when it happened. Not relevant to Classic or really this discussion.

Direct this elsewhere. I don’t multibox and really have no idea how people who do, manage to do it. All I know is Blizzard is perfectly cool with it and has been for 15 years.

Automation by definition has to happen on its own. Software or hardware that sends keystrokes to multiple clients isn’t automation. And technically, it’s only bypassing a limitation of Windows.
