Multiboxing-How too

Ive been seeing alot over the years of folks wanting to know how to or how to play multibox toons.

Ive personally multiboxed 8 toons at max up until they banned software aid.

Now, i currently multibox duo teams in PvP, Dungeons, Mythics and raids.

This is a super simple guide.

Step one-Own multiple account’s

Step two-Make multiple toons, multiples of the same class works the best. Ranged is obviously the easiest.

Step three- go into mouse settings and change settings where your mouse can move freely in-between windows.

Step 4- login multiple toons and meet up together and party.

Step-5 place all characters in windowed mode and adjust your screen to fit all windows side by side or up and down.

Step 6- create macro on boxed toons such as /Target your character
/assist your character
/skill/spells here

/target your character
/follow your character

Also turn on “use mouse for movement” this will allow you to click on the map and have all your characters move.

In PvP you WILL have to manually click to move each Character

In a basic setup, your rotation will look like.

/target main character
/follow main character

Reach and enemy then attack on your main, move your mouse to your secondary or additonal windows and click your /target /assist macro with skills.

This will allow you to say, use multiple character’s to pyroblast or multiple hunters to aimed shot.

After you kill said enemy,

Use your /target main character
/follow main character.

You can literally just have 4 macros on skill bar for all additonal accounts.

If youre feeling spicy, you can make a macro of interact with target using mouse over. This will allow all your extra characters to mount your main characters multi seat mount.

Also, to give insight, in current war within, you can multibox legitly and still win in PvP. Literally the top player in 3vs3 is a multi boxer. He uses two marksmanship hunters and his buddy heals. Hes able to instant 1 tap players immediately from camouflage.

Without software, multboxing is annoying but the ability to just have mouse slide into each window WITHOUT alt tabbing is a god send.

Ive leveled several duo teams to 70 using this method even in dungeons where tanks are moving fast.

First thing to know about “How Too” multibox is to understand that difference between “too” and “to”.

I don’t MB anymore. It is allowed in FFXIV. Go there and do it. Hardware and Software boxing no longer allowed in WoW. Unsub from WoW on all your multibox accounts and go do it in FFXIV where it is allowed.

I’m so glad Blizzard has cracked down on multi boxing a bit. What a strange, antisocial way to play a game.

I love the guide, but isn’t having a set up where pressing one button causes more than one action to occur was a bannable offense?

Currently yes but prior to shadowlands launch it was fully allowed. Battlegrounds/arenas removed the /follow feature to combat against botting years prior.

But currently yes you can mouse through double windows with ease and literally reign supreme.

If youre good enough to handle 1 character, why not two?

The also benefit of multiboxing is the ease of being able to play for free.

Getting from level 1-120, id make around 280-700g per quest completed. Selling rewards from quests and gold from 8+ toons.

By level 120, id have around 400k gold not including selling ores/herbs.

Nowadays, youll get maybe 20k gold from level 1-80 per toon.

very nice of you to help others out with this.
I boxed 4 alts without any addons,hardware or software, so its not impossible but having a few monitors definitely makes it easier.

No you’re allowed to multibox you’re just not allowed to use anything that automates it and that I believe includes hardware not just software so you have to do it all manually or there might be some in game macros you can use like /follow

You’re not missing anything lol. I tried four boxing for a while and yeah it’s not fun at all. The only reason to do it is if you’re farming something in the extra characters speed up the farming. Other than that it’s just a waste of time and totally not fun
