Blizzard has stated since vanilla that multiboxing is not cheating, not against the ToS and not exploiting.
Since Classic is going to keep the modern no follow function it essentially makes it impossible to multibox in bg’s. If it is within blizzards own words acceptable to multibox why haven’t they added a system to allow you to follow your que’d group in battlegrounds? It would take less than 5 minutes to implement this into the game and just seems like they’re actively trying to dissuade multi-boxers from bg’s.
I’m perfectly fine if blizzard comes out and says, no more multiboxing allowed in WoW. However they maintain this stance that it’s perfectly allowed but they introduce systems to hinder it as much as possible. Such as them adding a follow break in BFA on engagement of any pvp, even world pvp.
Pick one or the other blizz, don’t tell the community it’s okay while you actively work against it.

I find it funny they would disable /follow since multiboxing = $$$.
/follow is a personal pet peeve of mine. Anytime someone followed me I would wedge them behind a fence/tree and keep going.

I could understand disabling /follow to people who aren’t in your group. Or even having a setting in the options to disable the ability to have someone follow you. If you’re in a group it should be allowed since you’ve acknowledge you’re wanting to engage with them.
They removed follow to combat bots. Not multiboxers.
This is a security issue.

Multiboxers solved the problem with a pet.
Which won’t be in classic, hence the classic post.
Saying something is allowed doesn’t mean they have to make it easy for you. Like, as long as you are a natural-born US citizen over the age of 35 who has been living in the country for 14 years, you can be President of the United States. Doesn’t mean it is EASY.
It is totally possible to get Grand Marshall and Scarab Lord at the same time. But that sure as hell isn’t easy.
Saying they will allow it doesn’t mean they can’t make you work for it.

They’re using the modern API (despite removing focus
) and I imagine that logic applies to how /follow
works. It’s not an indictment of multiboxing any more than it is in the Retail game, but they don’t want strike teams in battlegrounds.

Only way multi boxing isn’t cheating is if you alt tab and control 1 character at a time, 1 button to make 50 characters spam a skill at once is straight up cheating. Just alt tab switch between them.

Are you for real?
Like are you so against multi-boxers that you somehow managed through a herculean effort of mental gymnastics that this somehow made sense to you?
In no way does any of this have to do with “ease” It’s saying it’s allowed then putting blocks after the fact purposely to stop the thing they said is allowed.
I honest to god have to assume you’re drunk and or high when you typed this out.[quote=“Melaneth-dalaran, post:7, topic:207874, full:true”]

The inherent class design of classic will apply a cooling effect on boxing.
Very few people applaud a boxer in a BG.
If I play it. I will box it.

The /follow component was removed from PVP because of scumbags that bot in BG’s.
If you’re a die hard multi box player you will find a way to multi box with out /follow.
For you and everyone this is L2P issue.

Again, the tactics available around the no follow don’t exist in vanilla/classic. If they just allow people that que together to follow each other then that avoids a botting issue whilst not destroying the capacity to multibox.
I wouldn’t see multiboxing as cheating if people were controlling two toons without using any addon functions, I mean its not really cheating if they control more then one unit by their super human multitasking but people don’t do it that way.
Its ok if blizzard doesn’t tell people no more multiboxing and removes follow.
Become super human at doing the whole multibox without having your follow.

Multiboxer tears are truly refreshing. Ahhhhh.

The /follow component was used by full bots to “Train” in BG’s and as a result improved their effective capability to farm honor points in BGs.
This is why component was removed from the game.
Adding the ability back into PVP only invites people to re-start the bots.
I will be very happy never seeing a bot in PVP again.

Again, limit it to those only in your pre bg group. Why are you ignoring this aspect of my argument? Bots won’t be able to follow anyone other than those in their pre bg group making it useless to them. Also the vast majority of bots never even used the /follow.

I see you have totally underestimated how freaking insidious the bot makers actually are.
If you give them the ability to /follow in group, they will form a group with their bot system and Q.
I am not kidding, these guys are insanely resourceful; give them a millimeter and they will extract a mile.
