Multiboxers, I have a question (calm please)

No criticism or hate in here, just a few questions and my opinion.

So far I have seen a few multiboxers in BFA and more than enough in Classic. Apart from affecting my immersion as an RP player, I haven’t noticed any other impact.

I’m here just to ask you why do you even multibox?

I’m simply concerned why people would spend certain amount of time for the activity which takes away the fantasy atmosphere. It seems as an unusual hobby to have.

Please, explain to me what is the point of it?

Edit: I deleted the “addiction” part, you people have fair points.
Be rational.

low post count alt…as per usual

Oh no, I just cannot decided who to main. I have one post on each of my characters.
I haven’t even been in the relevant content yet.
I just hope this wolf will stick with me

…I’m gonna mask another anti Box thread by judging.

uh huh…

You almost had a legit post going… then you didn’t.

Don’t forget, it’s a game.

This is like asking someone who collects stamps if they feel “addicted, empty”.

It’s a hobby. No one needs to justify that to anybody else.

Again - not at all.
I don’t understand it and that’s why I see only negative aspects.
Just explain.

honestly, English couldnt possibly be your first language to have written your OP here and NOT meant it as an insult to boxers.

Second language, yes

then Im going to step out of this one and see how it pans out and give you the benefit of the doubt.
your choice of words in the OP, however, say Im right about your intent…but Im willing to give it a chance.

I multibox because I enjoy the game. But I dont exclusively multibox. I also have about 10 solo main/alts for harder content.

Multiboxing is just another way to play casually. Mainly because I’m someone who often plays alone, don’t join guilds and like to play on my own terms. Multiboxing allows me to go into group content and not be bothered by others. When I feel like grouping i’ll go with my solo toons. (or playing with friends/family).

Also Multiboxing in itself is a challenging endeavor. Sometimes people speak how OP and P2W it is but in fact it is not easy to do well. Been playing the game for so long, I looked into new ways to enjoy it.

Fair point.

I personally don’t. But I do run with a few 5 and 10 boxers friends. They say they have fun with the challenge of controlling that many characters all at once. One has a setup to run nothing but dungeons, I think he’s cleared up to M+ 12.

Apologies for the provocative start, wasn’t intentional.

Î wanted to add, I noticed many multiboxers are usually Tech oriented people. And I guess we just like the “i can do that” and troubleshoot issues, overcome problems we encounter in the game.

You don’t know how truly annoying a boss can be until you try to multibox it.

because they can.

They don’t care.

Boomprime summed it up nicely. For the vast majority of people who like to multibox.

Take your time.
Work on the challenge.
Help earn some gold to pay for the challenge? Sure.

Despite the number of loud voices proclaiming that all people who multibox are evil, it’s much more on the other side of the spectrum. And most of them are courteous and don’t want to bother anyone.

I don’t multibox anymore but I used to for a long time in other games. Used to run 3-5 clients personally but I know a dude at work who did 10 (though at that stage you’re hooking up in your room with many monitors).

For another game I’d use it for the enjoyment of manually controlling different characters for different roles;

Multiboxing feels really good. You’re a single person but you’re getting a better reward to time benefit than others. You’re able to gear so many characters at once and accomplish more than you can do on your own without what could be limitations of doing content without the unrealibilty of doing it with strangers.

The only other thing I’d add is that you can still focus on your main. Let’s say you do a legacy raid you’re seeking an item from it. That’s so many more chances multiplied by the number of accounts you have.
