Activision-Blizzard made $6.49 billion last year. Even if you multiplied that $4,300 by 100,000, it still wouldn’t get up to 10% of their total income. And not every multiboxer will have dozens of accounts, so the actual income from them would be far lower.
Money is obviously a factor.
I specified how much that 1 person in the video brings in for income. There could be people who box even more than that. Unless we’re told how many people do it, how many boxes are involved or if they’re doing 1 month, 6 month subscriptions, any math outside of that is irrelevant and a total guess.
But companies are here to make money. I work in a large organization and the higher up you go, the more you start to learn how much smoke and mirrors are there.
And? That doesn’t mean it’s an all-consuming greed (even if it feels like it sometimes).
People are well within their rights to believe that it is because it’s very logical, not uncommon for a company to do and makes sense.
Now, you may not believe it does or want to believe it does but that does not mean it may not be true.
To elaborate further, I work for a large organization (as mentioned). Our CEO is a billionaire. You can tell him all kinds of idea that will make things so much better for the company or the employees but he’ll always ask “what does that do for the bottom line?”
Multiboxing is Pay to Win and whoever says is ok just because the company said it is delusional.
are they botting?
then it’s fine.
Just because you and the 5 other people who make the same thread over and over can’t get it through your thick skulls… is a YOU problem
If owning multiple accounts is pay to win, then owning a single account must also be pay to win.
I think you know what he means. He’s implying that people are paying extra for the advantage over what we’re normally paying.
I don’t see a problem here, aside from bad strategy by the Horde.
Owning the expansion gives you an advantage over just having a subscription.
That makes no sense.
Being able to get 10 more levels and a couple hundred item levels isn’t an advantage?
You’re trying to draw a false parallel. There is no shame in eating crow, my friend.
- Yes, they do. And those programs are allowed.
- Blizzard’s stance, whether you accept it or not, is that the same advantage can be gained by grouping.
No. IT DOES NOT.
So you’re saying that having 10 more levels and a couple hundred item levels is not an advantage. I just want it to be clear on what you’re saying.
You’re the one saying that.
Here they are. Only you, sir.
No, you’re the one saying it’s not an advantage.
You mean the tokens that someone else spent $20 on instead of $15. Blizzard makes more $$ off token sales. Derp.
If multiboxing is as rare as you say, the income it generates for Blizzard has so little impact that Blizzard wouldn’t even register the lost income if it went away.
You can’t argue that it is both so rare that they don’t care and that it is so prevalent that the extra income is a motivating factor.
