If you want to farm black lotuses, you need to multibox to make it worth your time now, how is this not pay to win?

Farming black lotus’ doesn’t sound like winning to me.

Most guilds who have been using them will figure out they don’t need them anymore. I suggest farming other things and buy when market drops between now and aq. Other things like dreamfoil and silver sage have spiked as well and I can gather those rapidly and they sell faster than the lotus do.

I think guilds should start seeing how bare bones they can run raids just to spite minmaxers. How meme can you go before the run is impossible.

1 black lotus sells for something like 80g on average. Black lotus spawns once every 70 minutes. This clocks in at about 70g per hour if the only thing you do is collect 1 black lotus per spawn.
1 greater fire protection potion sells for about 10g right now. If you farm the arathi fire elementals non stop you can probably get about 20 elemental fire per hour. You can make like 200g per hour doing this.
The black lotus thing doesnt sound like a real issue to me when you put it in the perspective of someone who actually plays the game.

black lotus is 130-150g on sulfuras horde
The prices are relative. If my black lotus are 80-100g, and yours are 130-150g, then your other items are also likely similarly inflated. My gfpps are 8-12g, so yours must be 15-25g or so.
The point is you can just play the market in other ways and easily afford to just buy the lotus.

When is the last time you checked on that? Black lotus goes for 130g+ on my server. Then again it’s a higher pop server (Fairbanks).

How does one multibox to farm lotuses?
You just park like 5 accounts worth of toons on lotus spawns that all have herbalism. Learn the timer and log them in at your 5 locations when the timer is approaching. Collect the herb.
You dont actually do anything with the accounts besides leave them parked at the black lotus spawns. Log them in every 65 minutes or so.

Min maxers won’t care what other raids do.
You can’t pvp in BGs multiboxing and you can’t really do raids effectively multiboxing. So best you can do is farm more gold at the cost of more irl money and you can solo get prebis (with great difficulty).
How is it pay to win? Maybe world pvp, which is useless.
I don’t necessarily disagree that there are alternatives to lotus farming, but I should point out that the kind of servers where black lotus costs 120g and over are the same kinds of server where elementals that drop Elemental Fire are basically camped 24/7. And it’s a similar situation with other high level herbs/veins (good luck finding Dreamfoil anywhere if you don’t log during off times) or mobs that drop profitable items. The only exceptions (maybe) are instanced herbs/mining nodes in DM East, and Golden Pearls/Winter Squid if you fish.
