boxers devalue traditional gold making.
this causes more RMT (gold buying)
this causes more people to start boxing
this causes more deflation of value of traditional gold making
this causes further RMT.
this is all helped along by BOE’s, which are ALSO encouraging RMT.
raid ilvl boe need to go. crafting professions need to be allowed to craft raid ilvl pieces again (max 3 equiped) to spread out gold making ability. this is absolutely mandatory for not only a healthy economy not totally dominated by tsm, boxers, and boosters, but also for the fun of the game.
deciding to earn your gold of farming ore and making armor is and ACTUAL rng element. you must sacrifice every other major profession to do this. they require a grind to switch, and a full grind to switch back.
Botters and unscrupulous players devalue traditional gold making (not ALL boxers).
RMT has zero to do with boxing, yours or others’ reasons for buying gold is simply to cheat the system.
More people started boxing because Blizzard put in a (somewhat) attractive AH mount, slapped a hefty price on it, then told everyone it would be going away. Or, posts that attempted to “devalue” boxing, had the opposite effect; and enticed more solo players to try it out.
That, in turn, had the effect of peeving off the preschoolers who can’t accept that the playstyle is allowed in WoW (or their little epeens can’t stand being ganked by group of characters - regardless of how many players control them).
I’m guessing your AH schemes to gouge indefinitely came to a halt and now you’re peeved that someone else can make gold better than you can. That’s just sad.
Couldn’t a player just have two toons and one of them is a gatherer and the other is a maker?
Nothing really needs to be sacrificed unless the player is willingly wanting to do things less efficiently.
i don’t think it’s the multi-boxers that are causing the issue here though. Unlike a botting program. A multi-boxer does at some point have to log off and sleep and the like. A botter on the other hand can go run errands for the day and unless their program is messed up, It’s going to keep doing whatever to farm mats / gold.
no i used to just pick herbs and then sell flasks for market value.
funny you have to strawman AND ad hominem to even attempt to make a point.
thank you because it really shows how weak the argument for keeping boxing is.
no its common sense. they gather 3-5 times the nodes everyone else does, and then sell it. more supply means price goes down. thus… devaluing traditional gold making.
I personally only care about multiboxers that run with 10 chars and zap every node they touch out of existence (because nodes instantly despawn after 10 taps). Thankfully this particular flavor of boxer isn’t as common as the ~5 type, but they’re a pain to contend with if you happen to have the misfortune of landing in the same shard as them.
If Blizz changed how nodes worked such that 10-boxers can’t effectively monopolize nodes any longer I wouldn’t care that they existed at all. They do suck in war mode, but war mode has been junk since patch 8.1 (if not earlier) so no real loss there.
It’s really not though. The only people who actually see the numbers are Blizz and they aren’t sharing. If the market was truly being disrupted to the level you (and others) claim, they would probably address the issue.
Considering that 9.0 is on the PTRs, of course the market is gonna tank as people are offloading inventory to make room for SL stuff. Mutli-boxing has nothing to do with it. I’m sorry you cannot gouge people on the AH anymore.
I only came to this thread cos the concept of ‘negative feedback’ used to describe the in-game economy excited me. Unfort, it is not used in the technical sense and I am unrequited.
