I came across a multiple multi-boxers in the world environment (people running 40-80 wow clients) and it creates a lot of lag for everyone sharded with them on the server. 40 man raid multi boxers using addons like:
Super Duper Macro and Multi-Boxer Software being able to Bypass the macro 255 limit and character imput limits and run near unlimited macros and scripts that should not exist in game.
Creating an incredible amounts of script/run/cast commands per keystroke per character. multiplied by 40-80 times over pending how many accounts they are running.
Enabling /follow and cast sequences of up to 1000+ characters per button press times 40-80+ per character including creates so much lag. The game is unplayable for anyone other then the multi-boxer.
I get that this is 1 person buying 40-80 wow accounts to play. 1 month of game time alone for one of these multi-boxers is up to $1200 per month in subscriptions. But is it worth ruining the gaming experience with lag and disconnects for hundreds if not thousands of users that happen to get on the same shard as this multi-boxer. literally being unable to play anywhere in the zone because of the lag they create?

My computer is not a potato and my net is solid. In raids and large scale pvp fights I never drop below 60 FPS… but this multi-boxer shows up on my server shard or in a BG

So… is this Multi-boxer Lag Scripting Mass macro/scripts thing LEGIT ? Is it not breaking TOS or EULA ? or is something a miss going on here that needs to be looked into.
Report players for cheating if you suspect them of wrongdoing.

Which is no different to 40 to 80 people buying one WoW account for each. Multiboxing, as long as there’s no automation, is not against the rules, nor does it offer any unfair advantage or cause any negative effects to the game’s stability, or even to other players. None of the things you mentioned have anything to do with 1 person owning multiple accounts and operating them at once. They have to do with multiple characters in one place, and whether those are being controlled by one person or eighty is irrelevant. The effect in-game is the same.
If you suspect they might be using automation software, then report for cheating. But don’t be surprised if they’re never banned, because in all likelihood they’re simply multiboxing within the scope of the rules.

Automation software would create less lag… its the use of scripts and macros ingame code they are using and stacking to create ease of play across multiple accounts that are creating excessive lag…
A casual player will use “raw skill input”
A hardcore player will use raw skill input + 1-4 cast/instacast overlays maximum including trinkets on occassion.
A multiboxer will have 80-100+ lines of code accessing the server per button press 40+ times over per keystroke for every character they have. 1 Multiboxer character lags the server as much as 40 normal players. <<< THATS WHAT IM GETTING AT.

All the target self targeting skills at %hp
All the target lowest HP
having a 40 man multi boxer is the equivalent of 800-1600 players in 1 area. Its that amount of lag created, is what i’m getting at.
Not currently against any rules. If you believe they’re using automation then report them. Simply being a 40 multiboxer is not against the rules. And your math is off. I’m not going to argue with you. If you think multi boxers of this multitude should be against the rules use the in-game suggestions feature. Right now it’s not. This is not a feedback forum. Or suggestions forum. Or a complaints forum

I’m sure there are actual multiboxers on the forums who could explain how completely wrong this whole post is, or even programmers. I don’t know the details, but I’m pretty damn sure this whole post is utter nonsense.
Report for cheating if you think they’re cheating. Post in General with your nonsensical anti-multiboxer ranting if you think it counts as suggestion. No rules broken.

That is totally impossible. If it’s causing lag, it’s causing lag for everyone - including the multi-boxer. If you are getting lag because they are there, it’s because of the number of characters in the area, not specifically because it’s a multi-boxer. The lag is client-side. It has to do with how well a player’s system handles the volume.
Totally lame argument. What relevance is 40-80 characters when millions play? What relevance is $1200 when Blizzard’s bottom line is in the billions? The lag is because of the number of players in the area, not specifically mutli-boxing. All multi-boxing does it let you see them all in one small area.
How do you know they are using it? Or are you just speculating that it is being used? What makes you think the number of characters in “their” macro has any affect on how “your” system operates?

I had lag in the new quests areas yesterday. I normally don’t get lag. it wasn’t because of a multi-boxer was in the area and their scripting. It was because a large number of players jumped on the new quests the first night they were available. The servers can handle the “volume” from a multi-boxer. Lag from the number of characters in an area is client-side, not server-side. What would you have blamed it on if you hadn’t seen a multi-boxer?
