Muffled sound effects or wonky sound balancing

Ingame Audio is muffled for other players. My own spell effects are fine, some though don’t play or are quiet but i still hear them. But effects of other players, whether in open world or in dungeons or raids are quiet to the point of being muted. Its incredibly immersion breaking to be in a dungeon to only hear my own sound effects and random grunts and sounds of being hit by the enemy that are VERY loud and not hearing any other spell effects from anything. Dialogue from bosses or talking NPC boxes are fine. Ambient sounds are fine. Though the idle dragonriding mount roars are VERY loud too regardlesss how far away they are. Overall the sound feels half muted and i’ve tried everything i’m able to. being in a packed city like Valdrakken and it being so devoid of sounds feels wrong. standing at the archway by the flightpath and only hearing the sound of one random protodrake mount on the other side of the courtyard is wrong. I’ve googled this issue but can’t find anything. Fresh install, no mods, latest audio and graphic drivers. And this only happens with WoW.

Yeah, audio’s been funky ever since the prepatch. I have all the same issues you’re having, and this is on a fresh install. The audio is also coded so that it eats up far too much of your CPU and causes stutters as well.

I’ve been hearing random kill shot sounds all the time while in combat, and they’re really loud; much louder than all the other sound effects.

It also feels like even though i have it set at 128 channels its only using a fraction of that.
