I earned the base MT challenge appearances for all specs on my Paladin during Legion. Since then I’ve moved servers (several times), deleted characters, made new Paladins, you get the picture.
I love the MT appearances, but it’s been years since I’ve thought about farming the rest of the tints. Recently, with the Collector’s Bounty event going on, I’ve had a blast going through old raids and farming mounts I wasn’t lucky enough to get when they were current. With farming old content in mind, I decided I’d take a wack at the old MT tints I hadn’t unlocked yet.
Only one problem, I came to found the only way I could unlock additional MT tints was with the original Paladin I unlocked them with during Legion, 8 years ago. What a load of horsecrap. That Paladin is looooooong gone, I’m not even sure what server they were on. I ended up going through all of the servers I’ve played on during the last 8 years and checked what Paladins I could undelete - empty. He’s been permanently deleted. Huge RIP.
Now, with the news that MT Challenge appearances won’t be coming back for Legion Remix because they’re exclusive (but for some reason the AOTC mount and Mythic ToV ensembles aren’t???), I feel like someone just took a giant duce on my chest. Unfortunately, that someone was me. In hindsight, I should’ve kept track of that Paladin but I didn’t. It is what it is.
Okay, to finish off my rant. If I earned the MT Challenge appearances during Legion, the tints should be farmable on all characters of the same class. And if the MT Challenge appearances aren’t going to be available for Legion Remix, then the Violet Spellwing and Mythic Chosen Dead ensembles shouldn’t be either.
Consistency matters, half measures just frustrate everyone.
So you deleted the only character that had progress and now you regret it. This is why there is one character in my entire account that will never get deleted because he does all of the heavy lifting.
AHAHA Ryzen you wouldn’t believe it you’re in the same position on me. Did all DK, 2 warrior and Base Feral and red Feral. My old feral was lost when there was a merge. I still have the other two.
I’d be happy with this suggestion, but also I think we gotta accept our lot. Still get people jelly to see what I have, then i get jelly to see people with the purple and green shiny feral.

Until about 2 months ago I could never have more than 1-2 characters on my screen. Just a mental thing but I felt i lost focus. I’ve been this way forever and broke the habit just in time for Collectors Bounty. MAYBE op is the same.
Yeah, they changed the rules on Character Restoration without any notice whatsoever. People went to restore characters, only to find that they had nothing to restore.
I lost a couple of characters that unlocked Artifact appearances.

These things are not remotely the same. And they’ve absolutely been consistent about CMs.
CMs are not raids. The Mythic set randomly being removed from a raid was arbitrary, stupid, people screamed about it back then and was a failed experiment. Mythic gear doesn’t just get deleted from raids.
Haha, and Blizz has never been wrong themselves or gone back against what they’ve said, right? We have an example of exactly that right now with the Spellwing coming back…
I don’t know why people care so much about the Spellwing. Friendship Moose and Friendship Birb both were extremely easy to get. Insanely so. That’s why they were called “Friendship,” because people were carrying others— for free— for quite some time to get those.
Oh I’d imagine they were all fairly easy at a point in the season, MT ones during anto and the carry runs are you right there were two nice groups (was perky pugs around then?), but guilds in general.
You’ve seen the threads people throw their hours over pixels, collectors bounty n all that.
It’s even weirder when you consider the history - and even more proof that Blizz flip flops around all the time. They were going to add the MoP AotC mount to traders post, a bunch of people got uppity about it, then they decided against it. And now here we are, not even a full expansion later, and they’re talking about bringing an AotC mount back again.
I tell you, you can’t take anything Blizz says as gospel. Their philosophy changes with the wind.
Personally, though, I don’t care. Bring it all back for all I carr. The only truly prestigious thing is the Scarab Lord title and mount. And even that I wouldn’t bat an eye at coming back, considering how precious few of them are left
No they weren’t. Wowhead datamined it with a placeholder currency, because that’s what happened with new things when datamined. Not because they were going to put it on the Post. A lot of items that were never intended for the Post had that currency listed at first when datamined. There was an entire explanation of this after Wowhead’s sensationalism.
That’s what Wowhead does: clickbait outrage to get people to read.
I will say this much. That I do suddenly feel my throwaway account suddenly feels so much more valuable compared to before because people are worked up about it.
I’ll exclusively play Feral and farm tears. (I say never having touched grizzlemaw or most other classes either LOL)
I actually did my 10 ranked BGs in TWW, and unlocked the tint for the Monk Mage Tower weapon that way lol, several years later.
I also have another Hunter, but he’s not really played anymore and I don’t feel like getting like catching him up, but if they ever became fully account-wide I’d just unlock it instantly.
Have several other Hunters that have done ranked battlegrounds, as well as other classes.
