The best loot system to use in your scenario would be, imo, just loot list. Everyone puts all the loot they want in a list, ordered by how much they want it (1 most important), and then you just slap everyone’s list in a spreadsheet. If you have conflicts of people putting the same item in the same rank you can then go by whatever metric you want (seniority, performance, how much they help the guild etc etc, just be clear about what you’re using and why), or you can just have them roll for it and let the dice decide at that point.
I find SR to be one of the worst loot systems in practice. I’m in an SR guild right now and it works out because people try not to rat eachother. But I’ve been in SR guilds where bad attitudes prevailed and it just turns into people screwing other people over for side-grades.
Ex: Two different times in P1 cata I had a month long stretch where I either received no loot, or did not even get to ROLL for loot, because of how loot dropped and how our SR’s fell. Not even going into specifics of how some players abused SR’s to serve themselves with total disregard for the rest of the raid.
I would argue SR and MS>OS are the two worst loot systems for established groups. If you’re pugging, fine whatever. But an established guild? It just doesn’t work. Players cannot be trusted.
He was literally replying to my post in seconds the other day and has the audacity to throw out that claim.
MS/OS with SR+2 is the fairest loot system, certain cretin don’t like it cause they think they have more right to gear than other people in the end it’s just a game the gear isn’t needed to clear the content.
So I ask the gdkp enthusiast, why must you gatekeep gear, why is it such a burden of little Timmy gets an item and you don’t?
You do want new players to enjoy the game like yourself so you? OR is it simply an echo chamber for you to circle jerk in
“Fair” in the context of what? That everyone is equally at the mercy of RNG? Sure.
It’s not fair though when you have one guy who puts in all the work every week, helps farm materials for the guild, farms patterns for the guild, crafts things for the guild, and then receives nothing from raids week in and week out due to unlucky dice rolls. This is precisely WHY DKP was created in the first place. So people who were putting in tons of effort for the guild would be essentially guaranteed rewards for their effort.
And again, anecdotally, people in SR runs are typically the first people to rat their group mates out of loot.
sitting in MC for months just to watch others winning your rolls does not taste good. The only gear I got for my warrior from raid is a ** belt, after playing for 4 months.
