Anybody have this monitor? Would you recommend it? I’m looking to have dual monitors running off a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER - 8GB GDDR6 (VR-Ready). Plus, I can’t seem to find them in stock anywhere brand new and noticed that I can get them refurbished for $379. I’ve never bought a refurbished monitor before, but don’t want it to stop working after a short amount of time.
Stock for anything is scarce right now.
So by going with those monitors you give up G-Sync and the Free-Sync on that monitor may not work for you.
People seem happy with it and it seems like its full of RGB.
Quick Review - Free-Sync/G-Sync is basically your monitor and game freshrates trying to sync up.
Free-Sync -> AMD (Sometimes work with Nvidia Cards)
G-Sync -> Nvidia
I thought I read somewhere with a driver from Nvidia that you would still be able to benefit from either of those? Something about monitors that use FreeSync could be enabled with it.
Varies from monitor to monitor. If you’re just after the high refresh rate, the monitor is perfectly fine.
-just my opinion
I personally don’t see all the hype for curve monitors. I have one myself and once I gotten use to it, it just seems like a regular monitor when you’re looking straight at it. Becomes weird when I’m using it as a secondary cause you notice the curve more, when glancing from the side.
I did some research and it looks like this monitor is compatible for G-Sync as long as I update to the right Nvidia driver. Idk how I feel about a refurbished monitor though? My biggest worry is buying something and it not working. From the looks of it, the e-bay listing for this requires the buyer to pay shipping back if it doesn’t work. Should I just wait and buy a brand new one over a refurbished. My computer should be here by this upcoming Wednesday and Idk when they plan to start production again on making them.
Also I can still run these through HDMI?
that is something you have to decide.
I bought my 4k monitor refurbish. Does have some white spot when screen is dark, but it doesn’t bother me for what I do.
Seems like the monitor supports freesync over both hdmi and display port. I believe you would want hdmi 2.0 or 2.1 cable.
