MS is an outdated debuff

everyone knows passives are lame, but did you ever think of MS as a passive? passive fat 25% heal reduction for no reason baked into your primary attack move. boring, lazy debuff from 2001. all it does is reduce the variety of potential compositions.

i believe, blizzard knows this, and this is why they kept on adding ms to more and more specs (feral, fury, unholy dk with a cooldown, locks with a cooldown, felguard for demonology buffed to 25%, [was it nerfed recently? i don’t keep up with notes anymore i’m casual] ETC ETC).

stuff like psyfriend and sharpen blade in my humple opinion is a great example of how MS effects should be reworked to; abilities with somewhere around 30-60 second cooldowns and last a short period of time or can be fairly easily countered.

ANOTHEr point to bring up, passive MS also greatly reduces the pool size of pets hunters can choose from. like and bookmark this post if you agree.

Did you go back and play tbc-classic when it was out? I didn’t due to real life constraints, but I watched a lot of it.

I feel like gameplay around MS was actually really interesting. Like, from a mana meta / micro perspective. Priests having r1 renew & pw:F bound to bait purges to hurt mana economy. & the slower pace lent itself to the MS meta. Getting that pillar, having the rogues stacks fall or the MS fall. Topping someone because you waited for that and didn’t dump your blue bar into a 50% mitigated target.

I guess what I’m saying is, yeah MS is outdated. But I liked when it was stronger, because of the game that surrounded it.

I feel like the balance between MS havers and not havers should always be burst. If you have MS you should have big sustain and that class sitting on you should suck. If you don’t have MS you better kill people when you get your window.

I think this has lost focus over the expansions and now everyone kinda does both to varying degrees but only some classes retain MS for reasons.

I would like that

i did actually, and happened to play arms warrior for a bit of arena. i was calling out my MS like it was sharpen blade.

I mean, it was. Hahaha. Warrior in TBC looked like the most investment into satisfying payout. Can’t move. NO rage. Parried. Resist. Omg i’m moving. MS is up LETS GO STUN PROC.

I’m leveling a warrior on classic era currently and my favourite thing no joke is frost nova. I just hang out and contemplate my decisions that brought me to that point, and think about all the things I would love to be doing other than sitting in a nova. It’s kinda like therapy.

feels like MS limits comps now a days outside of caster cleaves.

or maybe people are just uncreative and refuse to queue anything, but fotm

Kinda miss Seal Fate/Daggers, that was fun. But in retail, Sin is a rot spec and Sub doesn’t jive with me.

Yeah it’s why i have trouble sticking to the game when my main specs are kinda not what i wanna be doing

honestly just remove all MS
i dont think its needed in the current day and age if they balance classes right
i like cooldown ms passive MS needs to go

MS has become so prevalent in this game that it has gone from being a huge benefit to the ones that do have it to a huge hindrance to those who don’t.

Should just get rid of ms and reduce ask healing by 25% at this point

I don’t think blanket nerfing healing is the solution to removing MS. That’d also be a huge buff to certain classes wouldn’t it?

You’re right. The healing received is only reduced by 25% for casters. Problem solved

Yeah MS is as antiquated as Blade’s Edge pre knockbacks.

You achieve this in the modern game by MS effects happening in windows. Instead of the window being when it falls off, the window is when it is on.

ms was the original dampening so yeah they could def do away with it

MS in a burst gameplay + dampening + healers complaining about their heals + your toon dying in less than a second… i dont know… i feel that a “bit” oppressive.

MS should not coexist with dampening.
