Yes, but it is based on a survey. These surveys have talked about literally everything and anything. Things that have both happened and, overwhelmingly, not happened.
Is it worth talking about? Sure.
But no “M+ queue” is currently being tested. It is just a survey.
Of course Blizzard could be doing some internal testing but that’s a whole other claim and no “Doctors don’t want you to know these three simple tricks”-style articles from Icy Veins is ever going to be a reliant source. Basically, the survey is real … but no matter what Icy Veins says, it isn’t going to be a reliable source for information.
They have repeatedly been known to both lie and lie by omission.
All I’m saying is that yes, it is something to talk about, but your title especially is pointing towards something we have no idea about whatsoever. Without some actual definitive statement by Blizzard, we can’t know that they are serious about any kind of M+ queue.
… although considering that they have talked especially about making queuing (their word) for M+ easier in Midnight, it is plausible that they are testing it. But we just simply don’t know that for sure yet, and nothing Icy Veins says on the topic can be touted as reliable.
Although at that point I’d think the interview from this Wowhead post would be more relevant to talk about:
I really hope they don’t listen to the people saying it’s a bad idea who would never use it and add it as an option. It would be really nice for a good portion of the playerbase who just wants to casually do keys.
I basically only even see current season dungeons in this game anymore as follower dungeons for the dungeon weekly and nothing else. Normal/heroic dungeons are completely obsolete now and a casual way to do keys would be really nice.
the code is already in place for it - literally another config object
not like they are developing a whole new system or anything
I dunno - I think it could be good. I’d expect lower level queues to be popping and high ones not so much. This would be good because everyone has an opportunity to learn then content, but then depart for more competitive options.
Not sure it would be that doomsday as others believe.
Also you might breed more tanks/healers in the long run because getting into the content becomes more approachable.
I’d personally like to see it in action. Might be surprised like the PvP community was.
I mean, I don’t even do mythic plus as it is why would I do a version that also smells like LFR? I would just be trading one type of elitist for another. No thanks. I’ll stick to 3 T11 delves and the vault.
Bookmark, I don’t even think I’ve ever complained about anything in this game minus like, transmog options not being available and that’s about it lol.
I would love to get grouped with other people like myself who just wanna play casually no matter how much they might suck. Sounds great
I have absolutely zero, negative even, faith in whatever haphazard algorithm blizzard writes up to pair people up for success in m+. It won’t meet people’s standards. People who are good will continue to run premades and people who were too scared to run their own key will all congregate and brick keys in their queued content. I just hope it comes with spectator mode (with redacted names for privacy, of course!)
It would have to consider much more than the other queue’s which consider almost nothing. You can’t just have 3 boomies or shadow priests end up in queue. You need to have a mixed or melee and ranged, probably Brez and Lust…actually, you couldn’t even have multiple boomies, priests, or augs for example. Also, the other match making systems only take ilvl into account right? This would also have to consider IO and what dungeons people have completed.
I don’t know anything about PvP, but are you talking about solo shuffle? In that you naturally have the “bad player” being shuffled every round so it’s balanced…and the pvp community is so incredibly tiny that people were having difficulty just finding game from what I understand…M+ isn’t that dead.
I have no standards, I’m currently not doing M+. This sounds like it’s for people like me who aren’t doing M+ currently but want a “casual” option like this to entice them into it.
It would totally work on me, and you can totally watch me fail and me not care because I wouldn’t be in that key otherwise lol
That’s great, I’m happy it will give casuals a barrier for entry, just as LFR did. (I am not using the word ‘casual’ in an insulting way).
Also not using the spectator mode to be condescending, I actually do think it’d be a cool learning tool to watch random anonymous keys and see what they fail or succeed in. I wouldn’t use it to laugh at people (most of the time )
