I have a wtf/addons folder with ElvUI and a separate one of each folder where I built the whole UI myself. I want to be able to copy all of my Grid2 and Clique profile/settings across. I thought it would be as simple as copying the Grid/Clique folders in each path, but that didn’t really work. Anyone know the right way to do this?
Is this for the same character or for a different character?
If it’s for a different character, a lot of addons using the Ace2 architecture encode the character name in the saved data and put it in the common saved data file rather than create character-specific (and anonymous) saved data.
If it’s for the same character and you’re just copying in a new profile built outside of WoW all I can think if is that you missed something building it or you’re copying the files in incorrectly (missing a folder level or something).
I’m trying to get everything. I attempted to set up role based profiles, but did a poor job of remembering, so some characters are using a “healer” profile or “tank/dps” profile while others are using the realm/character default profiles in grid. Clique is a whole other issue.
I eventually just went into each profile and exported it, then imported again using my other folders. Not pretty, but, I guess it’s done.
