Moving back to the UK

True but thats not knowledge I was aware of. In my head I figured it would be like copying a character from retail to PTR.

Clearly this isnt the case.

Well, I play from South America on US servers (there are no latin servers) and I do just fine.

No. I looked into it years ago and it’s not technologically possible on their end. I play from the EU and can’t tell a difference in terms of lag or ms.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to transfer between regions and people have been demanding a solution but Blizzard just doesn’t care. And it’s an issue Blizzard created, its not like somebody force them to do it or every game is like this, many many games over Steam are region free and even Overwatch is.

The big problem about playing on US servers from Europe is not only the lag, but there is also the time zone issue, like if you want to raid or do something fun Americans usually do those things around 7 pm but at that time is like 3 or 4 am over Europe.

Also another issue is the community and friends, let say you move to Germany and want to make new German friends who play WoW. You cant because you are stuck with Americans and you wont be able to find people near to you.

I hit the exact same issue here a few weeks ago, long time friend moved to Germany and there is no way to even communicate on BNet, his ping in oceanic was unplayable but was ok on a US server so that’s what we went for (I am in Australia).

after playing on a US server i have still found it to be quite populated all times of day and night, it hurts a bit knowing that i won’t be able to join a raiding guild but there is always LFR to see what the raids actually look like. ping isn’t an issue for either of us, still find plenty of normal groups, the odd mythic and have even dived into a pug normal raid.

Thats a bit different than from the UK to USA.

In what way?

I play between 100~140 and Im on a west coast server.

No, they wont, its easier for you to shill out another 60 bucks for the game + sub then do a transfer just for you. Also a headsup OP you don’t want to play on European servers the community is
special to phrase it more appropriately.

Special? Better or worse than us?

Oh way worse. It’s like having to deal with unironically toxicity but times three plus it being in 5 different languages if not more.

I would never go back there. We might be bad on US but in a good way and I love you all way to much.

But do they have slaps in the face?

I found the community there to be infinitely better. Trade isn’t clogged with irrelevant poli nonsense being just one example.

Ill sit on your face instead.

That what I like about the US, the banter and jokes. EU, is all social justice, political correctness and 5 different languages trash talking the others for talking in their own language.

I have a very bristly beard and mustache.

Are you saying that to make me more excited, because I was already gonna do it. :octopus:

I don’t agree.

I want to upvote your post for your other reply. What a dilemma.

Gave you a like instead. :kissing_heart:

But I mean I guess it still depends on the server you’re at. Things said and joked with on Tichondrius or Sargeras can definitely not be said on some other servers I’ve been at.

But the end of the day I was on such servers on EU and whilst that political correctness was a bit to far for English side I know for a fact the French community was the opposite to it in French, same for the Russians. Its just a big hotpot of everything tossed together that at one point I just stopped interacting with people all together and started to lose my drive to play WoW with people.

Back on US I got back into playing with friends and meeting new people which is the aspect I like of the game.
