Movies that make you cry

What movies do you consider tearjerkers? I think of Titanic and Edward Scissorhands. Ghost, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, The fault in Our Stars, Cast Away, The Notebook, Philidelphia and The Green Mile can also make you cry. Just recently, I was crying because of the ending of Edward Scissorhands. It was so sad to hear Edward (Johnny Depp) say goodbye to Kim (Winona Ryder), then Kim kisses him and whispers “I love you” into his ear. It’s enough to bring anyone to tears.

Please share what film has you reaching for the tissue box.

And you can mention animated films.

It’s a Wonderful Life? That definitely had a touching moment.

How do you put a photo in your reply?

You have to be trust level 3.

Pretty much any movie that has a dog sacrificing itself for its owner. Old Yeller, John Wick, I Am Legend, etc.

I’m at the point now that if I see a dog on the cover/poster for a movie, I Google spoilers to see if the dog dies and if it does, I don’t watch it. I want movies to entertain, not depress me.

I can’t recall actually crying to a movie. But, there’s a scene from an episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime that gets me a bit choked up.

Titanic and Pearl Harbour without a doubt

I have memories of seeing the movie Fluke and sitting between my sister and best friend and getting punched repeatedly when one of the dogs died. Pretty good movie and cast. I liked the whole fantasy/reincarnation aspect. Matthew Modine’s character dies in car accident and he’s reincarnated as a dog. Also has Eric Stoltz, Nancy Travis, Ron Perlman and Samuel L. Jackson (he voices a dog that takes Fluke in).

lol Don’t think I’ve thought about that movie in a long time. Came out in 1995. The book its based on came out in 1977.

There are so many movies on that make me cry.

13 Hours, but that also makes me really mad. So, I’m not sure if I’m only crying out of sadness or am I also tapping into my anger.

Flow, for many reasons.

IF, again… for many reasons.

It’s a Wonderful Life, a must watch every year, but I definitely cry.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles…yeah, that gets me every time.

Like I said, so many movies.

Remind me what part of Pearl Harbor brought on the waterworks.

Watched that several years ago in the movie theater with my mom. For such a funny movie, it does hit you. Especially since John Candy was so endearing in real life and as a character.

Watching the ships being bombed and sinking.

As a Retired Navy Veteran, I’m not ashamed to tell everyone that I definitely cried watching the Arizona sink. Especially since I have pulled into Pearl and have seen the watery tomb in person.

Thank you.

It was an honor and a privilege to serve our country.

Life is Beautiful (1997)
Dead Poets Society (1989)
Forrest Gump (1994)

Many more made me cry but these warranted a bath towel.
