Doesn’t seem to work for some spells l like Power Word: Fortitude, is there a diff syntax for it in Classic vs BFA ?
Yikes doesn’t work for Lesser heal either.

I use this one, haven’t had any errors yet.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Power Word: Shield
Thanks, I got it to work with lesser heals but for buffing random people with fortitude have to target them first ugh.
I’d look into the addon Clique, basically the same thing as mouse over macros but super easy to set up. I’ve been using it for years and not just for healing. Works on any unit frame.
The formatting is the same as BFA.
If specific spells aren’t working, check to make sure you have your macro hotkeyed, and not just the spell.
I use:
#showtooltip Power Word: Fortitude
/cast [target=mouseover] Power Word: Fortitude
thanks but doesn’t work, it only casts it on me.
That’s just really odd. I use that format for all buffing all players other than myself: Fort, Arcane Int, Unending Breath. I don’t understand why it’s not working for you.
Get the prayer of fort book as this is only cast once for the party.
Do you have it bound to a key that is also your self-cast modifier?
(For example, using Alt for selfcast and binding the macro to Alt + D would always cast it on yourself, as the selfcast key overrides the macro commands).
I’m not sure, I don’t think so but I’ll poke around in my config and see what is up. Thanks
Try this:
#showtooltip
/cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][target=player] Power Word: Fortitude
Very similar to the one another mentioned above but instead of “@player” it uses target. I had this very same problem but someone in /1 in Elwynn helped me out.
By default self cast is on, turn it off somewhere in the options and see if it works after that.
I had to manually type out the mouse over macros to get them to work.
Check spelling
Thanks, that helped. I typed it out manually like you said, I typed the following in the macro window (no copy/paste this time) and no shift click from the spell book.
/cast [@mouseover] Power Word: Fortitude
Worked a charm. +10
Here you go
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead] Healing Wave; [@mouseover,harm,nodead] [harm] Flame Shock; Healing Wave
Replace the spell names, of course. This layout will let you use one button to cast an offensive spell or defensive/healing, depending on who is targeted (or you have mouseover on). So you can Smite that boar, mouseover yourself and cast PW:F. Or DoT a boss, then Lesser Heal the tank, one button.
I had an issue with mouseover macros not working if I bound it to a side mouse button. Could that be the issue?
Nope, I have a Logitech G600 and all 12 of my side buttons work fine. Macros do not work or fail based on your hardware. If you had that issue, it was a keybinding issue or a hardware issue on your end.
I use the same macro I posted just above and it’s flawless. Annoying when you go to cast a damage spell and accidentally heal someone cause your mouse pointer moved, but that’s not a flaw.
