Mouse/Keybinds

Unsure if this is considered technical but I’m having this strange key bind issue with my Razor Naga. I have certain key binds set on my 1-12 keys located on the side of my mouse but I’m having an issue where my movement is getting tied to my spell key binds. Most of the time I can’t use my key binds or certain ones for some odd reason and when that happens my key binds are used for character movement, then some times I can’t accept quest, open by bag, press escape and go to the menu, etc. Then sometimes my key binds work perfectly for a few minutes then everything stops working, I tried numlock, i tried resetting my binds, I’m not sure what else to do tbh. Unsure what to do but if I can’t play I’ll just unsub. Pretty unsure what to do

P.S. I just bought the mouse.

I haven’t played with any of Razer’s hardware before, but it may be worth looking into the software used to manage your hardware. A lot of companies who manufacture these kinds of things have software that you’ll need to use in conjunction with the equipment in order for it to work without issue.

I’ve used a Logitech G600 since 2013, but there’s been changes with the software and onboard programming that rarely I need to redownload the software and change my settings in the software.

Maybe Razer has something similar? Definitely worth checking out, imo. Friends of mine swear by the Naga - I only stick to Logitech because I’ve got hands the size of Sasquatch’s.

EDIT: Did a quick google search and I’m seeing that Synapse is the Razer’s platform they use for their peripherals. I would download that and make sure your bindings aren’t conflicting with which buttons you’d like to press. Are you using Synapse?

I’ve used a Logitech G502 and it comes with software settings to keybind association per game - I set one to wow. I’m sure Razor has something similar.
I’ve noticed an issue with macros & mouse buttons but it works when you adjust the preset to a keys such as “,” or “.” or “’” and the macro will recognize the binds once more. Not sure why.

currently working on using the app Synapse, everything looks in order. I just relaunched but same thing is occuring

Who uses keybinds? Just click. That’s the real hardmode. Only those who like to play the game in easy mode actually use keybinds. True gamers click to kill!

Sweet!! Love the razor I use it myself. I was thinking of going hybrid using the circular seven buttons and some key binds. I find the 10 11 12 buttons hard to reach

Are you using Razer Synapse app? Did you update the drivers or using it straight out of the box?

The only other thing I would imagine it being is that you potentially have some conflicting keybinds in WoW itself. Other than that, if you’re using the most updated version of Synapse and it’s a brand new mouse, I’m not sure what else it could be. I would see about maybe trading in the mouse for a new one, or checking with the technical support forum. I’m admittedly not very well-schooled in this.

Hope you’re able to figure out what it is. Nothing’s more frustrating than getting a new tool and it seems to break the game. If all else fails, I can’t recommend the G600 more. I hear Steelseries and Roccat haved decent MMO mice, but I seriously hope you’re able to figure out what the hell’s going on with your device.

Sounds like you need to update your drivers.

A lot of those gaming mouses have lots of buttons that cannot be bound properly.

@OP

Sounds like you are getting some conflicts between the mouse and keyboard.

Make sure you are using the Synapse to map your mouse buttons to your keyboard keys, not directly to the in game function. The mouse buttons have to be mapped to the keyboard and the keyboard mapped to the game functions.

Step 1: Map the in-game functions to your keyboard.
Step 2: Map the mouse buttons to your keyboard.

Example: My main attack is Actionbar1 Button 3. From the in-game keybinds window I set Actionbar1 Button 3 to the 3 key on my keyboard (game default). Then, using Synapse, set Mouse Button 7 ( or whichever you prefer) to the 3 key on your keyboard.

The flow goes like this: mouse > keyboard > game.
Not: mouse > game.

I hope that makes sense.
