Trust me, if they haven’t fixed the massive stutter issue that’s been plaguing the game for nearly 6 months, no chance in hell they’ll fix this lol.
Using a roccat kone, bug seems to happen more often when I alt+tab back into the game.
Nope razor mouse here.
Yea very true. Just un subbed on all my accounts. Terrible devs. Mark my words once riot games mmo comes out wow will be completely dead and the devs will lose their jobs. They are the reason the game just dies more and more every update something breaks. Never any smooth updates or expansion roll outs. They are making mid hundred thousands salary working at blizzard and can’t do their job correctly. It’s laughable that more issues in game are solved by the players then the devs.
Having the same problem as of today. Makes the game unplayable. I will be unsubbing if it’s not fixed by the time my current month is up.
Same issue began last night. Just logged in, was fine, switched characters, and started occurring again.
Can confirm this is also happening to me. Unplayable this way, makes it much more difficult.
Same deal, either mouse click causes 4 way arrow to pop up, typically starting when clicking back and forth between monitors. Relaunching game seems to fix temporarily as stated by others, if not that, better stability off a full system reboot. Super annoying, difficult if not impossible to raid, m+, or pvp.
also using a razer naga, but doesn’t seem to be the mouse’s fault
Having this issue also, happens on alts doing old raids (ie sunwell, black temple, etc)
I have a Steelseries Rival 3 mouse. Exiting the game and relaunching fixes the issue temporarily. /reload doesn’t fix it.
Fix this garbage already
This is happening to me too, and killing the client and reopening it seems to make it go away. It basically makes me useless in a M+ key until I relog.
Tried this on 2 different computers in different places, one with nvida other with macbook running windows on radeon gpu
All updated and completely different systems.
Only restarting the games helps temporarily.
BROKEN.
How many dozens are quitting? I paid for a year of the game, if no fix I will need a refund because it’s unplayable
Had this happen to me today. I forget exactly what I was doing, I think I was dragonflying, holding my right click down to steer, and then suddenly I was trying to aim left and it was like I hit a wall and couldn’t turn left any further, then it became the 4 way cursor. I could still play functionally with it as a 4 way cursor but it doesn’t work normally, gone after shutting the game down.
has not happened to me any other time so i can’t really try to pin down if anything i did caused it to start.
This has been happening to me too for several weeks. Sometimes it will go for hours with no problem, others i get about 30 seconds of gameplay before I have to relaunch the game.
The only way I’ve been able to mitigate the impact is to lock my cursor to the screen, but that severely limits camera movement since the cursor stops locking in place. it takes 5-6 drags just to rotate the camera 180 degrees. Not a huge deal on most fights, but when I am trying to pick up adds or monitor a hectic encounter, it becomes a big problem.
Graphics drivers up to date, mouse drivers up to date, brand new mouse (razer, seen reports of many different mouse types so that isn’t it). Tried making sure no other programs were running, disabled any extraneous razer mouse processes, checked the /fstack, disabled all addons, repaired, reinstalled. Nothing changes the result, it is something within the game.
EDIT: Huge problem on fights like HM flame leviathan. You can’t relaunch the game cause it just kills you if you log out so you are stuck with suboptimal camera control on a fight with a lot of moving parts.
It happened to me as well… restarting WOW actually helped for the moment but the arrow bug happened again.
Hey all,
Looking to gather more info about this and maybe some steps to reproduce the problem.
-
Can anyone share a video or screenshot of the cursor when the issue happens?
-
Has anyone found a reliable way to consistently recreate the problem? Detailed steps would be useful.
-
Do you play with the game in Fullscreen mode or Windowed mode?
-
Do you have more than one monitor?
-
If you enable “Lock Cursor to Window” under Options → Controls does the cursor issue stop happening?
I can’t get it to show up in a screenshot, but it is a very simple looking 4-directional arrow (N,E,S,W), Just white with a thin black outline.
I can’t reliably re-create it, it appears to be completely random when moving the camera with the mouse. Sometimes it won’t happen for hours, sometimes it will happen the first click after logging in. Sometimes it will occur when rapidly moving the camera, others it will occur from simply left clicking once.
I have tested in Fullscreen and Windowed, it happens in both. I have multiple monitors, but have tested with just one active, it still happens.
Locking the cursor to the window does not prevent the issue, however it does mitigate some of the resulting problems since you don’t have to worry about clicking out of the game on accident. When locked, the additional problem of limited camera movement comes into play as the mouse will impact the sides of the game window and limit camera range.
Additionally, I have made sure all drivers are up to date, windows up to date, repaired the game, reinstalled, tested a different mouse, had WoW as the only program running, checked /fstack to look for hidden layers, made sure no other windows are behind the game, moved all desktop icons off the monitor.
EDIT: have also tested with no addons loaded and it still occurs
This started happening to me after the last update.
just a thought… what resolution do you play in ? .if it’s more than (windows 10 settings)1920 x 1080 (recommended) or scale and layout 125% (recommended)(try 100%) the game window may have zoomed in a bit that you might see the four way arrow when the camera is moving with the mouse buttons
