Hey Guys,
Not sure if worth bringing it up but just wondering are we even able to disable the mouth right button’s “select” function and only keep its rotating angle function? Haven’t noticed for how long but this starts to bother me so much recently. Whenever I move and change the angle, the target would disappear because I somehow reselected something else.
Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks a lot
Unfortunately, I don’t see a way to “disable” a right click from selecting something, while still keeping the function to right click and turn your character, at least not with the default UI.
There’s an older addon called Right Click Modifier that you might try. Caveat: it’s quite outdated, but I see comments from as recently as November 2020 thanking the author. There don’t seem to be any current complaints.
Honestly, I’d first check your mouse for a failing switch, it only takes a second:
https://codepen.io/blink172/pen/vERyxK
Go to that site and right-click in the large orange bar 100 times. Then look at the counter. If that doesn’t say 100, you’ve got a failing mouse switch. It’s quite common when a switch is failing for a click not to “stick” and then “re-stick” on its own.
In other words, while you think you are holding down right-click, the mouse has actually released the right-click, and re-engaged it, in a matter of milliseconds. Thus, when you change angle, you end up selecting a new target.
I know, it’s annoying. I go through mice like there’s no tomorrow, and they always fail the same way - exactly as you are describing - though mine often fail on the middle button, too.
Good luck!

Found this fix in another thread that worked me, if your issue was similar to mine it might work for you too if you haven’t tried this yet.
In Windows 10
Navigate to the main Wow folder
Down near the bottom of the list is the Wow icon (W) icon
Right click on the Wow icon
Select “Properties” at bottom of list
Then select “Compatibility” tab along top of next pane
At the bottom of that select (check) “Disable Fullscreen Optimization”
