Mouse recommendations

My mouse is reaching his sunset years, my scroll wheel is going out so I’m in the market for a new one.

I currently have a random gaming mouse with 2 side buttons and one extra button behind the scroll wheel. It works but it would be nice to have like 2-3 more buttons. Although I don’t think I could handle a full 16 button mouse.

Any recommendations? Is there a good brand I should check out?

I got a m65 rgb ULTRA corsair mouse. It has 3 side buttons one is a sniper button, 2 is above it. There is also 2 buttons beneath the scroll wheel and thats it for the buttons. In total 5. Its around 87 USD

edit: it has 3 weights as well.

Ooh that sounds like it could work. I just need a couple more buttons but the full 16 button mouse seems like such overkill. My thumb hurts just thinking about it lol

Is the sniper button something special? Or can I use it as a regular keybind?

You’re able to remap the sniper function to another key on your keyboard using the iCUE program that lets you customize the RGB color of your mouse and keyboard. It does other things like key remapping, you will not be able to immediately keybind the sniper button in WoW without doing the iCUE remapping.

These guys explain it better than me lol

Im due for an upgrade too imo

cosair ironclaw its for a bigger hand but my hand is tiny but it works

I looked it up, it looks nice

Do you have trouble reaching the upper side buttons?

It would be nice to have a few extra keybinds but I’m concerned they’ll be awkward to reach

Nah no issue at all, my hands aren’t very big either.

How is the scroll wheel?

My mouse I have now was great when I got it but now the wheel doesn’t work like it should. It seems like it can’t tell which way I’m scrolling most of the time. It’s really annoying.

Works fine after a lot of use. Also has a button that unlocks the wheel so you can freespin it without clicks.

That button is quite a surprise if you forget it exists, and accidentally hit it.
I have a spare G502 now.

I’ve owned four G502, currently use the G502 Hero in both my gaming and work PCs. The sniper button is not that easy to reach but extremely comfortable to hold, click, scroll.

This is the way

Seriously the best mouse I’ve ever had. Also something I don’t see mentioned enough is how durable this thing is. I’ve had mine a good while and must have umpteen miles of mouse wheel scrolling by this time, but it doesn’t show any signs of wearing out. I also turn it upside down and literally bang it down on the table regularly to dislodge any little debris or junk in the little cracks and crevices, and it takes it like a champ. This mouse is a little tank. The G Hub software is A+ too

I use a Steelseries Aerox 3. I’ve had two now. The first one lasted me about 5 years, and this one has been in use for a couple of months.

Super lightweight, three ways to connect to your PC, and comfy.

I personally like the Redragon line up of mice specifically the wireless ones. If you turn off the RGB lighting a full charge lasts about a month and that’s using the mouse for like 10 hours or more a day.

I have tried so many different mice and g502 is the best. Its also reasonably cheap for the hero versions.

Just enough buttons and all easy to reach.

The software allows me to make macros that let you hold down multiple buttons and have them all fire on repeat.

E.g. 4-5-6-4-5-6-4-5-6-4-5-6

Vs every other mouse software i have tried that results in: 4-5-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6

If ever there is some crucial information I need in order to save the world, I pray it isn’t you who’s tasked with giving it to me, as I have absolutely no idea what in the blue blazes you’re trying to convey here

I can explain further:

I want the mouse software to continually press buttons while I hold it down. I don’t want to mash buttons over and over again.

I also map the side buttons of my mouse to 4, 5, and 6.

I map attacks that i constantly press to those buttons. For some specs I want those attacks to just press when they come off CD/have the resources. Ideally I want to just hold the 3 buttons down so I can simplify the rotation.

Most software (including the press and hold functionality Blizzard recently implemented), only repeats the last key pressed. So holding down all 3 buttons the output is: 4-5-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6

Logitech software, however, allows the macro to repeat all the buttons. So the output looks like this: 4-5-6-4-5-6-4-5-6-4-5-6.

Stares blankly, attempting to blink…

I’m no stranger to macros and complex keybinds but I have literally no idea what you’re saying. I’ll just assume whatever it is, it’s over my head and above my paygrade lol
