Mouse Over Macros — Mouse Buttons

So for whatever reason my mouse over macros don’t work when keyed to a mouse button. It works when keyed to any keyboard key. Any insights on this?

EDIT: Okay figured it out but really don’t like that this is the solution:

WoW reads mouse buttons differently than keyboard strokes when mousing over unit frames for reasons I don’t fully understand. You have to either use an addon like Dominos (which I don’t like cluttering up with—much prefer using native UI elements) or manually remap your mouse buttons to keystrokes using your mouse’s software.

I actually remember going through this whole rigamaroo years back and forgot I had to do this tedious task to get this to work. Any idea why this is the case? Seems like an oversight over overdesign.

Or an addon like Vuhdo or Cell can work without totally replacing ur entire UI, so put it so left click is always X, right click is Y, middle click is Z and whatever else modifier you might need.

Try the Clique addon. Does exactly what you want and is easy to use.

Late to the party I know.

This. Clique and grid2. No issues at all.

Blizzard is kind of lazy with their own interactive UI but they leave it that way due to players customizing and working around them. It’s kind of a controversial topic when people talk about it(which is admittedly not that often anymore) but it’s typically a very simple fix if you do it yourself in most cases.
