Mouse no longer working in 8.0

Guys,

We're working on the mouse issues still but I do have a couple of comments I can relay from those working on it.

For PC users:

As long as you have the appropriate drivers and software. The software can bind functions correctly.

WoW mouse only works with SteelSeries Engine 2 (not 3)

SteelSeries WoW Mouse users should make sure to set the WoW mouse setting profile to “In-Game Mode.

For Logitech G600 users, make sure you have the Logitech Gaming Software installed and that you have it in "Automatic Game Detection" mode. Also clear out your World of Warcraft profile and set up the buttons again to your preferences.

For Mac users:

There aren't any workarounds at this time I'm afraid.

SteelSeries Engine 3 does not recognize the WoW mouse.
and
SteelSeries Engine 2 is not supported by MacOS 10.12+

Our QA department would like to gather some additional information from users experiencing issues with their Wow mouse or other models as well.

What is the expected behavior that you're currently not getting?

What was the behavior/steps in patch 7.3.5 and what behavior/steps changed in 8.0.1?

Please provide a more detailed example of what has “broken” or what is no longer "working right”.

Feel free to reply in this thread and I'll make sure the info is passed along.

Good news/Bad news (logitech g600)

I did the steps outlined last night and was able to use my mouse's G7-20 buttons immediately on all toons.

This morning, it's back to not working.

So I repeated the exact same steps that I did last night. Not working.

To answer the questions you wanted answers for:

What is the expected behavior that you're currently not getting?
WoW fails to recognize my mouse's g7-20 buttons.

What was the behavior/steps in patch 7.3.5 and what behavior/steps changed in 8.0.1?
The change was windowed full screen (bear with me, this isn't an anti-WFS rant). I used to run in full screen mode and had no problems. However, when I would log in to WoW using google's remote desktop, I couldn't play it in full screen mode (Google remote desktop would not let me into the window when it was true full screen. I could select it from the task bar, I would see the game for a milisecond and it would flash back to my desktop), so I switched to windowed full screen (had to manually do this from the WTF folder since I couldn't get into the game and do it) and the game ran fine with google remote desktop. When I would get home and boot up, I would always forget I was in WFS mode until I would go to use my mouse, and its g7-20 keys wouldn't work. I would switch back to true full screen mode and they would work immediately.

Please provide a more detailed example of what has “broken” or what is no longer "working right”.
The g7-20 keys aren't recognized in game. They still show up on my abilities as being hotkeyed, but when I press any of the mouse's g7-20 keys, nothing happens.
I use the WOW Cataclysm mouse on an iMac with bootcamp. The problem is on the Mac. If I boot into Windows my mouse works fine. If I boot into Mac the buttons don't work and I play WOW on the Mac.

I do not have any Steelseries software installed on the Mac - never did and it always worked just fine.

*What is the expected behavior that you're currently not getting?
None of the buttons work except for basically the standard left/right buttons and I guess the middle wheel.

*What was the behavior/steps in patch 7.3.5 and what behavior/steps changed in 8.0.1?
All my mouse buttons worked. I was able to bind any button on any bar to any of the mouse buttons. Now I cannot. For bar buttons that were already bound they are now unresponsive.

*Please provide a more detailed example of what has “broken” or what is no longer "working right”.
The mouse buttons don't work. Not sure what else to say.

My Corsair Glaive mouse works perfectly, so I really wonder what the differences are between your configuration and mine

I had problems with my glaive too and thought oh no its broke like the wow mouse. turns out there is a serious bug with ICUE that if you don't open it and click your actions before going into game wow will not recognize them and you'll have to tab over to ICUE and click them. Annoying but they're working on a fix.

I have a Logitech G300s (3 button mouse with 2 extras on each side for a total of 7) on Windows 10, DX12.

Patch: 7.3.5
- Logitech software scanned and setup default buttons mappings. Buttons 1-5 showed up in WoW as buttons 1-5, however buttons 6-7 default mappings were LCTRL & LALT, which mapped to the game as those keys. Unassigned buttons 6-7 so they have no mappings in Logitech software and now buttons 6-7 show up in WoW as Button 6 & Button 7.

Patch 8.0.1
- Without any change, buttons 6-7 are no longer picked up in WoW.
- Tried mapping 6-7 then unassigning them again.
- Uninstalled Logitech software, uninstall generic mouse driver, rebooted, reinstalled latest Logitech software.
- Rescanned games, WoW was picked up and generic mappings were the same as before (with LCTRL & LALT on buttons 6-7).
- Correct WoW.exe set in profile (even removed and manually readded).
- WoW still picks up buttons 1-5 and LCTRL & LALT as expected.
- Set buttons 6-7 as Unassigned (as in 7.3.5) and WoW doesn't detect them at all. Tried Keybindings interface, multiple addons that use them too, none pick up buttons 6-7.

Mapping these buttons to keystrokes isn't an issue, but also not how it used to work. I need these buttons to show up in WoW as "Button 6" & "Button 7" as it used to be in 7.3.5,

Hope this helps.

Guys,

What is the expected behavior that you're currently not getting?

In-game recognition of the mouse's extra buttons and the ability to bind abilities in-game.

What was the behavior/steps in patch 7.3.5 and what behavior/steps changed in 8.0.1?

In 7.3.5:

Install Steelseries 2 driver. Even in High Sierra, the driver itself worked, but not the software. In game, the mouse was recognized just fine.
While the accompanying software itself produces errors upon launch, the driver worked fine. In-game, the mouse would program via the use of the same /kb binding command as on PC. If, for some reason, the mouse was disconnected or not recognized, /console enablewowmouse 1 would recognize it.

In 8.0.x:

Additional mouse buttons beyond 4 not recognized, as with most multi-button mice. /console Enablewowmouse 1 does not work, nor does the command that activates the console. The most I can get is a "WoW mouse is not connected" message, which says to me that the game is still looking for it. Perhaps it's a problem between the old driver and the game itself? Maybe the new sandboxing in MacOS the past few generations or possibly the driver being 32-bit or something?

Please provide a more detailed example of what has “broken” or what is no longer "working right”.

The in-game binding no longer works or recognizes additional mouse buttons.

Thanks so much for your attention to this.
Any update as to whether this will be fixed before launch day?

I'm getting pretty tired of waiting... I really have barely played the game since 8.0 dropped because of this. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Raiding/dungeons will be nigh impossible if it's not fixed.
This was fixed for the Mac via patch today. Not sure about Windows...

Guys... I just finished final exams LIKE 5 MINS AGO and now I am literally crying. THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!

Off to pour myself some rosé, and get back into Azeroth life.

LOVE YOU ALL. SO HAPPY.
So I have a Logitech M500 mouse, and everything has been working fine until today. Now WoW isn't recognizing the two side buttons or pressing on the mouse wheel.

In 7.3.5 I had one of the side buttons (button 4) bound to toggle auto run. And it worked as usual in 8.0.1 right up until today. Now the game isn't even recognizing the buttons at all. I tried doing a macro in Logitech SetPoint to have the button mimic the num lock (which is the default WoW binding for auto run) and it didn't work. Nothing has changed software wise on my computer insofar as anything that may have an effect on WoW (just downloaded Frostpunk and updated Chrome and Steam).
An update to my G300s button issues (buttons 6 &7).

Rescanned my games in Logitech software (to maybe update exising wow profile).
wow.exe was already there (manually added previously). Now I added the 2 .exe files in the launcher folder.

Logged in and buttons 6&7 are now showing up correctly (and set to 'unassigned' in Logitech, as it was in 7.3.5). Switched toons - buttons still working.

Logoff, login about an hour later - buttons no longer working on any characters again. This really sucks.
Launch day and blizzard still hasn't fixed this. Not real confident it will be fixed by first raid tier. >.<
Any updates?
Still waiting
FIXED..use the key binding settings to bind the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. I looked forever for this!!
I have a Cata Mouse and it will work then I will here my computer chime and I lose all my keybinds that I have made with it using bartender. I have had this mouse since cata and ever expac start this way with it. But usually by this time it is fixed. I also have the advanceinterfaceoption addon download and it still stops. All the buttons work when it happens but I just lose my keybindings. The only way to make it work again is to restart my pc. Also i tried to down load the Steelseries 2 engine but was wondering when I do that do I uninstall the Steelseries 3 engine first. Also which version of the SteelSeries Engine 2 should I download there are several I’m running windows 10 64 bit op system. If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and as alway -May The Light Always Guide Your Way.-
