With recent update the right mouse button no longer appears to function the same as it used to in the game.
I used to be able to hold left mouse button and my character would rotate with the camera. I could also hold down right mouse button and would run in the direction of the camera. That “Movement and Steering” function appears to be lumped together now and keybound to middle mouse button.
The issue with it is it automatically propells you forward and i dont want to hold down the middle mouse button. I have move this way for the entire time ive played the game. It allows for jump rotating and fast movements, now it feels incredibly cumbersom.
Additionally I can no longer right click and attack or interact with someone. When i toggle the mouse movement options in the menu nothing happens.
Movement feels clunky and challenging right now and its kind of a deal breaker…
Right click only: Has always turned the camera+player
Left click only: Has always only turned the camera, not the player
Right click+Left click: Has always caused the player to move forward, disengages any autorunning, and when either button is released, the player stops moving
At any point in turning the camera with the left mouse button, if you press the right mouse button, your character will automatically snap to that exact camera vector rotation and begin to move forward
Middle mouse button has never been bound to anything by default
It sounds like you’ve been using custom binds for a long time, maybe your UI got reset and wiped the binds?
Yes and what i was experiencing was that since tuesday this was no longer the case.
I agre this was ususally nothing but in the movement tab the very first item now says movement and steering and it was bound to the middle mouse wheel, and i don’t recall that being a thing before. I assumed it was a new setting.
As it turns out the very first rule of trouble shooting is the easiest answer is likely the right answer. The right mouse button on that particular mouse had failed. I could still move the camera with left click, but right click was not working.
Replaced the mouse, and problem solved. Another lesson learned… thank you for helping though I appreciate it.
