I have some dexterity issues and issues with certain fingers and
I am trying to create a macros using a IMAC.
- /cast [mod:cmd] healing surge; healing wave is the basic idea.
I would like to insert this into VUHDO SPELLS/Left Button. IMAC’s cannot use Ctrl and must use CMD. I would like the macro in VUHDO to function as follows:
Left click on the vuhdo panel produces spell_1, Left click with CMD modifier produces spell_2.
Any kind of additonal help with mouseover targeting or help harm with be helpful as well. Its a lot to ask.
Thank you in advance.
I’ve never had any problems using ctrl on my mac. Or are you wanting to use CMD because it’s easier for you to reach?
If it’s the first problem, what is stopping you from using ctrl?
For the second, you can go to the Keyboard section of System Preferences, and click “modifier keys.” Here you can swap the functions around at the operating system level. (So, you can have your CMD key send “ctrl” and your CTRL key send “CMD.” (Which will also swap them in game.)
Well I am confused. I am using the apple wirelss keyboard. I found this:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/command-key-mac/684784/8.
I can’t seem to change the CTRL option to anything not on the dropdown.
I’m still not clear on what you want to do. Do you want to use CMD as a modifier? That should work on the default UI, but as mentioned in the thread you linked, might not be supported for addons.
Do you need to use both CMD and CTRL as seperate modifiers? In that case, it’s probably something you’d need to request from the addon author. If you want to use CMD as CTRL, then the MacOS solution should work, but will be a pain as you’ll have to swap it back when not playing so your CMD key actually works.
If you do go that route, then after you click the “modifier keys” button, you’ll get a window with the main modifiers, each with a drop down menu. For the CMD key, pick CTRL from the drop down menu and then hit okay. Now your CMD key will act like CTRL (but everywhere, not just in game.)
Edit: Did some googling, and it looks like there’s a ticket on the VuhDo site requesting this feature, and it’s been added to the to do list. So, that doesn’t help you right now (you’ll need to use a work around) but it does look like something that should work in the future.
The problem is as stated on the vuhdo site. I will just have to wait until it is fixed. The vuhdo addon does not accept mac’s command key as CTRL. In game you can use the mod CMD.
Basically I was looking for a way to map (MAC) command to (VUHDO) ctrl. It doesn’t look like it can be done.
Thank you for your help.
