I am having a problem ingame where if I click on, say, my bag, its as if I am immediately stopped partway through the click and nothing happens. It also happens on other clicking options and there is also problems with movement.
To test and see if it was my mouse, I went into another game and tried playing, and I had no mouse issues. I don’t have any mouse issues in non-game use such as web browsing, typing, etc. For example, selecting and typing on the forum here is problem free.
Were any changes made to the technical side of things in the last few days because this is a very recent occurence for me. AND its so annoying, it is interfering with my enjoyment of the game. I stopped playing tonight because I just couldnt put up with it anymore.
It may be a computer issue, I’m trialling a few things atm to see. Either that, or a recent Windows update has done something but thanks for the input.
I wonder if anybody else has encountered this issue but it’s been a bit more than a week that my keybinds started doing their own things. I’ll try to be as specific as possible to get the answer which I hope, will fix my problem.
The first time this happened to me was during Sire’s fight. I use a razer naga and the buttons I used the most are 1-6. The example that really stood out was for my button number 4 which is bound to my arcane shot (I play MM hunter). For some reasons, when all this mess started, instead of using my arcane shot, my character would instead move forward… then it slowly spread to other keybinds like not being able to use my aimed shot which is bound to my button 5. I would keep on pressing it but it just seemed that I was clicking on nothing (clicking on the ability with my mouse worked). The small flashing light that happens when an ability is used was just not flashing. My guess is that either my command from my mouse was not going through or my keybind on my ability bar was messed up. Then at the end, it got the point where it was unplayable! I couldn’t even click on anything. For example, I wanted to set focus on the main tank for missdirection. It wouldn’t let me click on his nameplate. I couldn’t click on my bags to open them but using the keybinds “B” did so. I wanted to log out, it wouldn’t let me click on the icon log out. I used alt tab to get out of the game just so to close WoW, still wouldn’t let me click on anything. My only option was to ctrl/alt/del to end the task. I read few threads about this and brought up the addon atlas loot, which I don’t have, to my attention, did as they said and it still happened from time to time. It mostly happened during raid fights (specifically in Sire’s fight) but it happened to me again today while I was practicing my rotation on dummies… I do not know what to do anymore. Can a kind soul try to help me out please? I will really be thankful!
It is still doing it today, despite checking out my mouse, switching it to another port and resetting the UI to remove all add ons.
I’d really appreciate some technical input on why this is happening. If I have to, I guess I could pick up a cheap mouse and see if changing it over to that helps but to save money I’d like to see if anyone has any other ideas of what could be causing it.
It isn’t mouse movement, the mouse moves around just fine. Its when I click on icons such as to open my bag or click on the mailbox. It clicks on then immediately off, so I have to do it again, sometimes a couple of times to get the thing to action.
I am going to try getting a cheap new mouse and see if it persists on that. If not, I’ll know its the mouse.
It seems it may have been a mouse issue and not a game issue. I bought a little wireless mouse and have been using it for 24 hours or so and so far have not had a repeat of the click issue.
I am having mouse issues in game only. Not other things. And it seems like either my curser is off or to interact with things in my ui is off. I have to keep clicking to interact and everything including looting and talking to npcs I have to click higher than normal. Also my side button which is my auto run so I use it a lot only works half the time.
