Mouse getting stuck in the corner of the screen

This is really weird, sometimes when I alt-tab out of the game, my mouse gets ‘magnetized’ to a corner of the screen, making me unable to control my computer and forcing a reboot. It has happened twice now, each time a different corner of the screen.

Hey, Clubsandwich! Is this a touchscreen laptop by chance? It’s pretty common for this to happen on touchscreen devices. If it is a touchscreen device, the following may help, but please keep in mind that this isn’t officially supported by Blizzard. Please do so under your own discretion.

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Search for ‘device manager’
  3. Click on Human Interface Devices
  4. Click on HID-compliant pen
  5. Click on the ‘X’ in the top toolbar menu to remove this driver or click on the arrow which is facing down to disable it.

If the problem continues, could provide a DxDiag file? Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

Nope, not a touchscreen. I’m using two monitors, one at a different resolution and refresh rate if that helps. I know that can cause some funny things to happen.

Thanks for the details, Clubsandwich! With this happening on alt+tab, I’d guess that there might be a focusing problem causing the issue like it’s trying to focus on the other window that it was on.

Instead of restarting, are you able to alt+tab a few more times to see if this helps “unlock” the mouse from the corners? Do you have any mouse software that might be increasing the DPI or polling rates by chance?

The system files here looks fairly solid. There’s mostly update errors and some radar pre-leaks with WoW, which generally isn’t a concern to worry about. When did the issue start?

I’ve tried that, no luck. It seems problems came along recently after changing my mouse and keyboard to wireless. I’m using Logitech G-Hub with the DPI settings locked to the default profile, so assignments are the same all-round.

Where is the follow up to this? I have also had this same reoccuring bug for years and it’s even gone through both retail and classic. There is very little information out there surrounding this bug and it has been a curse on me for ages.
