I would really like to start a thread about this bug because I have been having this issue since at least 2020 now. Some patches it’s fine but then other times it’s incredibly invasive and I can’t seem to figure out what it is caused by.
It is pretty easily repeatable and happens about 30-40% of the time when I am alt-tabbing back into the game from my second monitor. Upon clicking back into the game, whether sitting still or actively moving, my mouse cursor will jump into the top left of the screen, dragging my camera with it. This has happened while sitting in Classic Orgrimmar, Oribos, Valdrakken, or even running through Wailing Caverns or while raiding Aberrus.
I often used to look into this thread on the EU forums: https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/mouse-jumping-centering-fix/40704
It is the most detailed and responded-to thread on this topic, yet it is dated and most of these options don’t even work for me anymore. For example, Fix 1 now provides the text “Dump: ERROR: [string “return GetCVar(“rawMouseEnable”)”]:1: unexpected sumbol near ’ _'”, that _ at the end being a rectangle character I can’t find to type here. This error is given to me no matter what they recommend me to enter in now. I’ve gone through each of their following 15 steps and none have succeeded.
At the end of the topic, a Blizzard employee closed it due to the age and provided this link instead to their official support guides: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000014597. This guide is drastically less detailed and only provides less of the same options provided in the EU forum post above. I use Windows 10 on a pc, two monitors, and a Redragon M908 mouse. I am willing to provide as much information as needed to figure out this bug.
