Mouse Cursor Icon Issue

When logging in today I noticed that the traditional gauntleted hand with the pointing finger is no longer working and all I see is a traditional mouse arrow icon. I’ve found at least one other poor soul in the same boat, and they apparently game on a Mac as well. No adding currently downloaded/running. Any ideas what this might be?

Edit to add: the icon no longer changes for me when interacting with various vendors either (i.e. - selling an item and seeing the gold sack, repairing and seeing a hammer, etc)

When that happens I CMD+Tab out and back in and that fixes it.

thanks, already tried that and it hasn’t fixed it. I have two monitors and play in fullscreen windowed mode on the primary monitor if that helps anyone else troubleshoot.

I play with the same setup and see that occasionally. Clicking in the other monitor and then in the game has always fixed it for me.

Appreciate the response. That has historically fixed it for me as well, but this has not resolved with any of those workarounds.

I had the same issue. I tried doing control-command-F and command-M to toggle full-screen on and off but didn’t help.

I closed the game, and then went to the WTF folder and deleted Config.wtf. The game will rebuild the file on startup. After that, I was able to click the buttons and it’s all working well now. Give it a try.

Update: Issue came back - I had to tab to WOW and then Command-M to go from full-screen to playing within a window. This way it works fine, but my FPS is lower. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next mac beta.

Having the same issue! have tried so many things and nothing has worked. Can not describe how annoying it is to play the game without the cursor icons. this is a very new issue for me just happened maybe over the past week.

I know this thread is 2 weeks old but I am now having the same issue and none of the suggestions work.

M2 Studio - latest MacOS update.
turned off and on addons etc.

It’s an issue many expansions now. Even a restart, clearing caches etc doesn’t fix. Seems random.

I am joining the group today. Just had this issue pop up on my computer and none of the usual methods fix it. The only change from yesterday was a Bnet client update. No game update or macOS update. Did the Background Security Improvement update at the beginning of the week.

Happening on my M2 Pro MBP on 26.3.1(a) in TBC Classic.

Issue since PowerPC days and Steve Jobs showing off Blizzard games on stage.

Every expansion since then. They never fixed it.

Out of curiosity do any of you have Bartender installed? I was having that issue (and some others related to cursor movement). Finally figured out that the cursor movement issues were related to Bartender. Since uninstalling it, I haven’t had any of the issues with the wrong cursor in WoW.

Sorry… clarifying above… Bartender the MacOS app was causing the issue, not Bartender the add-on.

Just have the usual suspects… Creative Cloud, Davinci Resolve, Office.

Only out of ordinary is Boom 3D, BetterDisplay (for always-on HDR), Blackhole, TG Pro, Cloudfare

Clearing the cache seemed to resolve the issue and it hasn’t come back. I do have bartender installed but it wasn’t running. I just moved to Thaw and been using that instead.
