first off let me say that i use my mouse buttons 4 and 5 heavy in my attacks in pvp with Crtl /shift / alt variants also being used
today i was pvping today in arena and my mouse buttons 4 and 5 on my corsair nightsword all of a sudden are no longer responding to the buttons i assigned them too.
they somehow all of a sudden became bound to action bar 1 buttons 1 and 2, instead of action bar 2 and 3 which no longer respond to the mouse.
i am at a loss as to what happened, and for context i DO NOT run addons in game, and i do not use any other software on the mouse, its just used straight in the USB
i have tried resetting all the keybinds to default, (nothing)
i have moved the keybinds WTF folder out of its normal location (nothing)
the mouse has worked with ZERO issue for the last 5 weeks except till today 20 mins ago (feb 7th 2025)
i am at an UTTER loss as to what may have caused this and i don’t know how to fix or even reset it so that i can get my game back running to the way i want it to.
any help would be appreciated
Try Escape Key, Options, Keybindings, try resetting your mouse buttons to which ever action bar key you had them set 2.
Could’ve also hit the profile switch button on your mouse and switched to a profile that has those buttons bound to different inputs.
i did that reset them to default, it didn’t do anything and the keys are still bound to the first two buttons of action bar 1
i don’t see how, because as far as i know there is only one profile. how would you even CHECK for something like that? this mouse is just hooked up straight USB with no external software of any kind running it. So it shouldn’t have any profiles at all with it
On the website for the mouse it shows a button under mouse 4/5, not sure what it does. Does it trigger options?
I’d look for something external, even in windows setting, mouse only appears to use ICue for led control, but I see no software that enhances settings, like maybe logitech does for their controllers.
And the extra action buttons, can you set the extra buttons to key 4/5, if in the wow client it should tell you if another keybinding was removed doing so.
as i have said before i DO NOT use external software on this mouse of any kind. its plugged into into the computer via USB only
and mouse button 4 and 5 i use in game for attacks, movement and other things
and no i can’t set the keys at all, they were still marked on my action bars when i set them the way i set them but those buttons do not respond and the mouse buttons would ONLY respond for the first 2 buttons of action bar 1
The mouse supports 3 onboard memory profiles, not sure how many iCUE will allow it to support. The 2 buttons on top of the mouse below the mouse wheel are profile switch up and profile switch down. Or maybe those are the dpi up/down and the ones to the left of the mouse wheel are profile. IDK, I don’t own a Corsair nightsword to verify.
yup thats exactly what it was, i got it working again, i’ll have to admit i DO NOT like the fact that mouse buttons WHERE I CLICK are something that load and switch profiles that seems like really REALLY bad product design on the part of Corsair.
but i got it fixed and running again back to the way things were now…

Yup. First thing I did with my Logitech was load the software to disable/remap those buttons or make it 1 profile only
You could also just make all 3 profiles behave the same so if you do hit it on accident it wouldn’t matter.
