Pull the ripcord on the class design changes.
For a development team that so often produces consistent, quality class design, the changes have devolved from a sound philosophy into making specs feel incomplete. The class design aspect of Midnight has left me profoundly demotivated, and unsubscribed. I don’t intend to speak for the community, but I sense that others - especially long term players - are also feeling disengaged.
Midnight was an inevitable success - player housing, new dungeons, new raid tier, new and exciting spec (DDH), new race, redesign of a favorite location in the game… but the class design changes have me - and seemingly others, from streamers to casual players - very alarmed with the transition to only numbers tuning so early in development (I predicted in a post in November '25… sure enough)
I genuinely thought we’d see iteration with feedback, but it feels like most concerns pertaining to class design have been ignored, most from invested long-term players who spend their free time considering how this game might return from excellent to prolific. Wasn’t it just two years ago that the dogma preached going into Dragonflight was that listening to the players made all of the difference? What happened? What changed this?
I implore, pull the ripcord on the class design in Midnight. Personally, the class redesigns leave me reluctant to log in to the beta and now live/retail/pre-patch, reluctant to renew a subscription, and planning not to engage in the new expansion at the present time. I’ll make this commitment: Pull the ripcord on class design, I (and I suspect others) will re-subscribe. Until then, goodbye. I sincerely hope this is not goodbye forever.
