Mounts on top of NPC's!

During events there is no reason for people to stand over or hover directly on top of an NPC. This is nothing more than a passive form of griefing. Around the NPC’s needs to be a “no mount” or auto “Dismount” area. Its pretty much that simple.

PS. I would consider this around mail boxes too, No reason to park a Mammoth or large mount directly over a mail box or an NPC.

Peace!

Have a big old mount blocking your access to a NPC or a Mailbox, I just walk thru them until I can click it. Not a problem.

I see players trying to block the Mailboxes in IronForge every day. They are not a issue.

use baby spice or the all seers eye

This isn’t something I see people stopping. I remember this happening as far back as Wrath when we started getting the large mounts in game.

But if you do get a massive mount parked on a npc, zoom the camera way in until you can see the npc you are trying to speak to. The trick has helped me get out of SW on classic when there are hundreds of people standing at the flightmaster in classic.

What bugs me is that Blizzard has the tech in place, they can put mount free exclusion zones around vendors/quest givers if they want to but they very rarely do so. I think pretty much every timed event vendor or quest giver should get the treatment, way too many people seem to get enjoyment from disrupting other peoples playtime.

Having said all of that, it doesn’t impact upon me directly because i just target the NPC and use my interact with target keybind but the existence of workarounds doesn’t make it ok. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, especially when the “cure” isn’t always available/known to the entire playerbase.

Regardless of whether or not the NPC can still be targeted, this is still rude and annoying behavior. My son has vision problems (retinitis pigmentosa) and is slowly going blind and barely able to still play the game without this kind of nonsense going on. The players who are doing this are typically going AFK and doing nothing but annoying other players and wasting Blizzard server bandwidth. They are doing it DELIBERATELY to be annoying and aren’t even actually doing it as part of the game play. There is no game served purpose in parking a huge mount on top of a mailbox or auctioneer (as they can do at Booty Bay). Players who leave their huge mount parked on NPC’s SHOULD LOSE THAT MOUNT FROM THEIR ENTIRE ACCOUNT WHEN THEY GO AFK THERE! The cost of losing such mounts should quickly discourage this annoying, childish behavior.

During Winter Veil, everyone waiting for the time to open presents, all mounted on their tree mounts (on my sever) time to open presents, boom no more mounts. It auto dismount’s you when you get close enough to the tree. Think they should do that for ALL events, NPC’s and areas.

Or they could just have summoned their brutosaur or yak to help people out and afk. Or they were using their mount and had to quickly go afk for an emergency. You have no idea.

I think you need to calm down. This is extremely over the top. You don’t know why people have those mounts summoned, nor why they went afk. You’re making baseless assumptions.

You also necroed a year old thread for this tantrum.

I understand that your son has vision problems and I empathize. I’m sorry that you both have to go through this. But you also need to understand that people don’t always do this deliberately and I’d suggest getting the Baby Spice to help out his situation.
